There was no need for her to intervene with the Lynn family—someone else was already taking care of things.

“Hester’s adoptive father is named Jude, and her adoptive mother is Faith. They also have a son.”

Bryce deliberately paused, glancing at the two women, obviously enjoying the suspense he was building. He took his time pouring coffee into three mugs, then picked one up and took a slow sip.

“Mmm, good coffee. You two should have some.”

“Oh, come on, Bryce! Are you doing this on purpose? Stop teasing us and just spit it out,” Stella huffed. She was hanging on every word, and now he was dragging things out on purpose.

“Sabrina’s right. Faith is Sommer’s cousin. The two of them were still in contact ten years ago, but after that, Faith’s family moved away. My people haven’t found any evidence of further contact between them.”

“They probably moved because Sommer asked them to hide,” Sabrina said. “She didn’t want anyone uncovering Hester’s real identity.”

Stella blinked, clearly confused. “What do you mean, Hester’s real identity?”

Right now, only Bryce knew the whole story. No wonder Stella was lost.

Bryce quickly explained, “Hester is Sommer’s biological daughter. Whether she’s Desmond’s child is still uncertain.”
