Less than half an hour later, Stella arrived at Bryce’s villa.
The three of them gathered in the study, quietly hashing out the details of their plan.
Just when they thought everything was airtight, something went wrong.
Jocelyn called.
“Sabrina, Jenna and Lennox have been taken.”
Sabrina’s heart sank. “When? Who took them?”
Her first thought was that their gambler of a father had come for them.
But Jocelyn’s next words tied her stomach in knots.
“About an hour ago. I don’t know who took them, but from the security footage, it looked premeditated. I’ve already called the police.”
The first name that flashed through Sabrina’s mind was Hector.
He was the only one with that kind of reach.
“Okay. I understand. Stay with Yvette, don’t leave the house. I’ll go find them.”
Hector had to be behind this. He must have found out about her past.
It wouldn’t be hard—just a trip to Cloud Village, and anyone could learn what happened sixteen years ago.
Hector had tried and failed to get to her so many times; it made sense he’d go after the people she cared about.
As soon as she hung up, Sabrina’s face darkened, her brow furrowed—a rare show of emotion for her.
The others noticed immediately. Stella hurried over. “What’s wrong? You look pale.”
“Hector’s kidnapped my sister and brother.”
Stella blinked in confusion. Sister? Did she mean Hester? That venomous woman and Sabrina could hardly stand each other.
That couldn’t be it.
Brother? Since when did she have a brother?
Bryce caught Stella’s confusion and quickly explained, “They’re a brother and sister Sabrina became close with back in Cloud Village.”
“Unbelievable,” Stella swore under her breath. “Hector’s a real piece of work. Kidnapping kids, just to get to you? That’s sick.”
“So what now?” Bryce asked.
Just then, Hector jerked his chin, and his men quietly withdrew.
A moment later, they returned dragging in a nervous-looking man.
The man’s eyes darted everywhere as he was shoved forward.
“This is our boss. Consider yourself lucky to meet him!” one of Hector’s men sneered.
The man trembled. “G-good afternoon, sir.”
Jenna and Lennox’s heads snapped up at the familiar voice.
When they saw the hunched figure standing there, they couldn’t believe it.
“Dad!” Jenna couldn’t help but cry out.
Aaron didn’t even look surprised. He just turned his head and glanced at her coldly.
Then, with a thud, he dropped to his knees.
“Please, sir, have mercy. They might be my kids by blood, but we cut ties long ago. If they’ve done anything to cross you, it’s got nothing to do with me. Please, just let me go!”
