"Don't worry about it, we make a great team," Giselle smiled effortlessly as she tucked the signed contracts away.
Once back at her office, she didn't pop champagne just yet. Her first move was calling Chloe, who had fully relocated to Yarnwick City to oversee the factory floor.
"Chloe, the factory contract is signed," Giselle said, her voice light and brisk. "Three hundred thousand yards in two months. Can the production lines handle the volume?"
"We've got it covered," Chloe replied confidently. "I've already authorized the factory to hire more staff. We're moving to around-the-clock shifts. You can relax, Giselle."
"Quality control is the absolute priority," Giselle reminded her. "I'll have accounting wire the second installment of the advance payment tomorrow."
When Giselle's new fabric officially hit the market in Bloomberry's latest line, it sent shockwaves through the industry. The unique, luxurious texture instantly caught the attention of rival fashion brands. Everyone was frantically trying to uncover the source of the material and the wholesale cost.
The fashion industry wasn't that big. Word about who was using a revolutionary new material or who had secured a top-tier supplier spread like wildfire. It didn't take long for scouts to trace the origin back to Yarnwick City.
However, competitors hit a wall. Any factory selling similar premium fabrics either priced them astronomically high, or the specific blend had already been entirely monopolized by Bloomberry. There were plenty of high-quality alternatives floating around Yarnwick City now, and they were all significantly cheaper than the suppliers back in Metropia while matching them in quality.
Virtually overnight, the cartel of Metropia businessmen, led by Chadwick Dawson, began hemorrhaging massive orders.
Several buyers even approached Giselle directly, offering top dollar to buy the specific Bloomberry blend. Giselle wasn't naive; she knew she couldn't keep the fabric a total secret forever. Now that the template was out there, other factories in Yarnwick would eventually reverse-engineer it.
She and Jean Morgan strategized and set a strict licensing price. Any yard of that specific fabric leaving the Bloomberry supply chain had to feature the Bloomberry watermark on the selvedge, no matter what it was being used for.
Several purchasing directors from rival brands took one look at the fabric, snapped a picture for their CEOs, and texted: *Cancel the silk contracts immediately. We're pivoting to this.*
"That stuck-up bitch! Is she out of her mind?!" Chadwick roared. He didn't yell often, but the sheer, venomous rage in his voice made his assistant take a step back. "We cut her off to force Bloomberry to buy imported fabrics, and instead she engineers a whole new supply line just to ruin me?!"
The other suppliers in his cartel rushed over, and the group spent the entire afternoon locked in Chadwick's conference room, panicking.
Mason Carter, always the most hot-headed of the bunch, slammed his fist on the table. "We can't just sit here! I had my people buy a sample and test it. It's just as good as ours, maybe better, but it costs a quarter of the price! I've got seven clients—seven loyal clients who have been with us for five years—trying to break their contracts right now. If we don't handle this, we're all going bankrupt."
Another supplier groaned. "What exactly do you suggest? Bloomberry is owned by Loyce Lonsdale! Do you know who Loyce is?! If we declare all-out war on Bloomberry, her family will crush us!"
Chadwick's eyes darkened into a sinister glare. "Who said anything about going after Bloomberry? We go after the woman. Ms. Turner wants to play hardball? Fine. We force her hand, take over her high-end supply chain, and sell the material ourselves at our prices."
That very evening, Giselle's phone rang. She was in the passenger seat of Hank's car, heading to his place. Hank glanced at the caller ID, reached over, and casually tapped the speakerphone button.
