She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 1023

"Tell me," Swain demanded, his eyes bloodshot. A terrifying, almost impossible realization was taking root in his mind—an idea so absurd he couldn't believe it, yet he had to ask.

Miranda chuckled softly and forcefully yanked her arm free. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"You just said a rich man made all her problems disappear! Who was it?!"

Why him? Out of all the men in Metropia, why did a woman like Molly target him? The timing was far too flawless, slipping into his life the exact moment his relationship with Helena shattered.

"I did say that. But why should I tell you?" Miranda smoothed her wrinkled sleeve, her tone infuriatingly casual. "Your wife owes me, and she knows it. As for who owes you, figure it out yourself. Don't drag me into your mess."

Without looking back, she walked out.

The sharp click of her heels echoed down the hallway, finally vanishing behind the hum of the closing elevator doors.

Swain stood frozen in the doorway. From the very beginning, his choice had been entirely wrong.

Over the next few days, the Carter family's life collapsed at breakneck speed.

Miranda mailed the scandalous photos and a detailed whistleblower report straight to Molly's corporate office.

When the HR department opened the package, Molly was in the breakroom cheerfully handing out expensive wedding favors. She was putting on a brave face, maintaining the illusion of her perfect new life, desperate to pretend the horrific confrontation at Swain's apartment had never happened.

When security escorted her to the main conference room, she still wore her meticulously practiced smile.

She assumed it was a standard meeting about her honeymoon PTO. She was even mentally drafting which tropical island they would visit and how to frame the photos for social media.

Then she walked in.

Sitting at the table were the VP, the HR Director, and a man in a sharp suit she didn't recognize. A thick file was splayed open in front of him, and he was glaring at her with absolute zero warmth.

"Have a seat, Molly," the HR Director said flatly.

Molly's smile faltered. A sickening dread pooled in her stomach, but she sat down, elegantly crossing her legs to maintain her pristine image.
