She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 931

Hank's restraint had finally reached its breaking point. He stared down at Giselle, his hands gripping her waist. He didn't press her down forcefully; he simply held her there, a heavy, grounding anchor.

"Giselle," he murmured, his voice so ragged it sounded like it might shatter. "I really can't hold back anymore. Are you trying to drive me insane?"

She looked up into his eyes, dark and entirely consumed by desire. Seeing the raw, desperate vulnerability etched across his usually stoic face, she felt something tight in her chest finally snap.

Resting her hand against his chest, she could feel his heart hammering—frantic, heavy, pounding like a war drum. She bit her lower lip to stifle a gasp, but her breathing grew shallow and uneven. Her eyelashes fluttered, and her fingers curled inward, her nails lightly pressing into his skin.

Unable to endure the agonizing tension a second longer, Hank leaned in.

"I told you I'd come," she whispered, tilting her head back to look at him.

"I can't wait anymore." Hank lowered his head until his forehead rested against hers. The words felt like they were being dragged straight from his chest. "If I let you keep teasing me like this, neither of us is going to get anywhere. You're completely exhausted, aren't you?"

He had seen right through her.

At some point, she found herself flipped over, her face buried in the soft pillows, her fingers gripping the edge of the sheets until her knuckles turned white.

"Giselle," he breathed her name into her skin, over and over, as if he needed constant reassurance that she was actually here in his arms.

The heat in the room kept rising, melting everything else away.
