Yara nodded furiously. "Make sure Shera calls me when she gets back!"

Caden completely ignored her. He snatched the bag, swept the woman into his arms bridal style, and walked straight out of the club.

Down in the underground garage, he deposited her into the passenger seat and leaned over to buckle her in.

His knuckles brushed against her skin; she was burning up.

Just as he was about to start the engine, his phone went off.

"Caden, where'd you go?" The background was loud—it was Solomon.

"I'm heading back."

"Home? Why didn't you bring your wife upstairs to hang out?"

"Have fun by yourself!"

He was already branded a "selfish ex-husband." What mood would he possibly be in to party? He hung up the phone.

He had just returned from Bay City today when Solomon called, saying he had finally finished studying abroad and wanted to catch up.

Caden had initially wanted to decline, but the thought of going back to that cold, empty mansion eventually drove him out.

The club was too loud, and he hadn't been in the mood to drink, choosing instead to lean against the railing and zone out.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Shera down in the corner.

At first, he thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. She never drank, and she definitely despised places like this.

It took three double-takes before he finally believed it was her.

And she was sitting next to some fresh-faced kid.

Luckily, they were keeping their distance, or he would have marched down there and flipped the table.

It seemed that getting her hands on the divorce papers had truly unchained her.

She was actually out ordering VIP hosts. Unbelievable.

"Water..." A faint murmur came from the passenger seat. Shera's eyes were squeezed shut, her brows furrowed in discomfort.

With a dark expression, Caden unscrewed the cap, supported the back of her neck, and brought the water to her lips.

After drinking, she slumped back into her corner and fell into a quiet sleep.
