Watching the taillights fade into the distance, Hulda felt a refreshing sense of clarity.

Inside the car, as they drove past Villa Number One, Dylan still subconsciously glanced up toward the illuminated second-floor window.

This time, he thought he caught a glimpse of a silhouette standing there. And that silhouette looked remarkably like Hulda.

He instinctively checked the rearview mirror to look at his boss.

He caught Caspian Sterling staring blankly in the exact same direction.

"Um, Boss..." Dylan carefully gauged Caspian's expression. "Since you managed to get Ms. Atherton's contact information fair and square, why don't you just reach out to her?"

Caspian slowly turned his head, his expression completely unreadable. His dark eyes locked onto Dylan's through the mirror, and his thin lips parted slightly. "Are you trying to tell me how to do my job?"

Dylan shrank back in his seat, too intimidated to say another word. He just kept stealing glances at the phone clutched tightly in Caspian's hand.

His boss rarely paid attention to his phone, yet today, it hadn't left his grip for a single second.
