She Quit Her Family and Found Herself novel Chapter 56

Dylan pursed his lips, thoroughly confused.

Didn't the boss already have her number? It was on the divorce papers Conrad had given him.

Oh, wait. I get it.

Conrad had told the boss not to let her know he was the one processing the divorce.

So now the boss needed a legitimate excuse to contact her.

Hulda stared at Caspian's phone for a few seconds before reluctantly typing in her number.

She handed it back. "Is that all?"

He glanced at the screen, then locked it. "Yes, that'll do."

Without another word, Hulda grabbed Sienna's hand and walked away. She didn't even say goodbye.

"Well, Ms. Atherton..." Dylan watched her resolute retreat and clicked his tongue. "She didn't even say bye."

Caspian pulled his gaze away and headed toward the car, muttering under his breath, "Rude."

...

The next morning, Sylvie woke up in her hospital bed, her face completely pale.

Herbert had stayed with her all night. His handsome face was drawn with exhaustion.
