With the Master's Cup rapidly approaching, his window to find her was closing fast.

"Grandpa!" Miles came running over, having just finished his book. "Grandpa, I read the whole thing! Tell me I'm smart!"

Wade adored his eldest grandson. He laughed out loud and scooped the boy into his arms. "Our Miles is brilliant! Reading a whole book all by yourself!"

Miles beamed, his delicate little face lighting up with pride.

Valery and Cora smiled along, creating a picture-perfect scene of domestic bliss.

Wade looked at his grandson's soft, refined features, then glanced at his daughter. He chuckled. "You know, Miles doesn't look like Hulda at all. He's actually starting to look more and more like Cora."

Valery's smile stiffened for a fraction of a second before she smoothly replied, "Herbert and Cora are siblings. It's perfectly normal for a nephew to take after his aunt."

"Exactly," Cora chimed in, rubbing her nose. "Either way, he looks like a Jewell."

Hulda spent the entire morning organizing notes in the study. She originally planned to visit the sanatorium in the afternoon to see Conrad, but the old man must have been utterly sick of her nagging over the past few days because he absolutely forbade her from coming.

So she stayed holed up in her study, organizing manuscripts until she had finally categorized years' worth of work right before the weekend was up.

She was just about to order some takeout when her phone rang.

Even without a saved contact name, she had an excellent memory. She recognized the number immediately; it belonged to Herbert's assistant, Victor Yates.
