Find some time to check what kind of apartment she's looking for and get it sorted. Put the expenses on the company tab as usual."

"Got it." Victor smiled readily. "As soon as we get to the office, I'll ask Ms. Sinclair for her exact requirements."

At the company, Victor handled Herbert's personal affairs, but Sylvie was his professional assistant, putting her at a much higher rank. On top of that, she was a senior researcher at the company's project lab. Because holding two key positions made titles confusing, she simply had everyone call her Ms. Sinclair.

An hour later, at the old Jewell estate, Valery frowned as she hung up the phone with Victor.

"Who was that?" Cora Jewell asked, strolling over with a face mask on. Seeing her usually elegant mother looking so displeased sparked her curiosity.

Valery sat on the sofa, knees politely pressed together, elegantly rubbing her temples with her perfectly manicured fingers. "That was Victor. He said Herbert gave the order to cut off Hulda's monthly allowance."

Hulda held two supplementary credit cards tied to Herbert's accounts.

As for her allowance, Victor dutifully wired the funds into her bank account on the dot every single month.
