When Hulda left the room, Abby was in the shower. She simply knocked on the bathroom door, called out a quick explanation, and went down to find Caspian.
Following the location he texted, she arrived at the resort's private archery range.
The massive indoor facility was completely empty. When she walked in, Caspian was already shooting.
He stood sideways to the target, practically radiating power. He pulled an arrow from the quiver, nocked it, drew the string back smoothly, and released.
The arrow hissed through the air and buried itself dead center in the bullseye.
Hulda paused for a second. She couldn't deny it—the man oozed sex appeal.
Noticing her standing there, Caspian casually pulled another arrow. "You're here."
"Yeah," she said, walking over with a deadpan expression. "What do you want me to do?"
She didn't know the first thing about archery.
He nocked the arrow. As he pulled the string taut, the muscles in his arms flexed beneath his shirt, the lines sharp and defined.
*Thwack.* Another dead center.
"Stand there and wait. When I'm done, pull them out for me."
Hulda instantly understood. This pampered billionaire was going to shoot an entire quiver of arrows, and she was expected to play the role of his glorified retriever.
She looked at the dozens of empty targets lining the massive hall, and the numerous full quivers resting near them. Her face darkened.
If this wasn't pure humiliation, what was?
He had a million ways to entertain himself here.
Yet he forced her to come all the way down just to pull his arrows out of a wall!
As he reached for a third arrow, he shot her a sideways glance. "Are you cursing me in your head?"
Hulda plastered on a painfully fake smile. "Why would I? You saved my life, Mr. Sterling."
He smirked, satisfied. "Good. As long as you remember."
He went back to shooting.
Hulda stood there, bored out of her mind. Since she had absolutely nothing to do until he emptied the quiver, she pulled out her phone and started scrolling through some data reports.
Hidden in the shadows near the back entrance, Dylan watched the scene unfold and nearly had a heart attack.
