Investigation-1

Markus stepped outside the Stormheart territory and shifted into his majestic beast, Stinger. His powerful wolf form was a sight to behold, with shimmering silver fur that caught the light and eyes that burned with an intense, electric blue. As he sprinted towards the royal pack, his thoughts were consumed by the stories he had just heard from Elora. He couldn’t believe the hardships she had endured, and his heart ached for the pain she had suffered. Azriel was indeed a lucky man to be blessed with such a special mate.

He remembered that he studied when he was young about special wolves, but Lora was not a

shifter; he would need to ask the pack elders as well, or even his father. If Lora could use her gifts safely, it would be a blessing for the entire werewolf kind.

The wind rushed past him as he ran, his powerful limbs eating up the miles between Stormheart

and the royal pack territory. Markus felt a deep happiness for his friend. After years of suffering

and loneliness, Azriel had finally found his family. The thought filled him with a sense of

contentment and joy. The only thing that was praying now to the Moon Goddess was the same to

happen to himself. He was almost 100 years old this year, but his mate was nowhere to be found.

He just hopped that it would happen soon, as him and his wolf were at the end of their patience.

Markus hated the idea of choosing a mate, himself being a very traditional man, but at the same

time he could not ignore his duty and legacy.

From the last discussions he had with his father, he somehow agreed that once he turned 100,

which was in a few months’ time, he would think seriously about a chosen mate, if his search was

unsuccessful.

Once he arrived, Markus shifted back into his human form, his body gleaming with sweat from the

exertion. He quickly dressed and made his way towards his chambers, nodding politely at the staff

and court members who bowed deeply as he passed. The respect and reverence in their eyes

were a constant reminder of the immense responsibility he bore. Being king was not easy; the

pressure and stress were unrelenting. But Markus had been raised for this role, and he embraced it

with a sense of duty and honor.

As he walked through the grand hallways of the royal pack house, he reflected on the immense

challenges he faced daily. The political maneuvering, the damn Werewolf Council, the constant threat of conflict, the need to maintain balance and peace among the packs, all of them weighed heavily on his shoulders. Yet, Markus never wavered. He knew that this was his destiny, his

purpose in life. His father had always told him that a good king carried the weight of his people’s

burdens with pride, and Markus had taken those words to heart.

Finally, he reached his chambers. He entered the opulent room, adorned with rich tapestries and

fine furnishings, and made his way to the bathroom. The hot water cascaded over him, washing

away the grime and fatigue of the journey. As he stood under the soothing stream, his thoughts returned to Azriel and Elora. He promised to support them in any way he could. They deserved

peace and happiness, and Markus would ensure they had it.

Also, their story brought him hope. If they found each other given the circumstances, maybe it

would happen the same for him. At least this was his wishful thinking.

After his shower, he dressed in comfortable clothes and stepped out onto the balcony adjoining

his chambers. The cool night air felt refreshing against his skin. He looked out over the vast expanse of the royal pack’s territory, the twinkling lights of the village below, and the dark

silhouette of the forest beyond. It was a beautiful sight, a reminder of all he fought to protect.

Markus took a deep breath, feeling a sense of calm wash over him. Despite the challenges, despite

the burdens, he knew he was where he was meant to be.

Markus dried off, dressed, and made his way towards his office, his mind already turning to the

next task at hand. He reached out through the mind link to his father, the former werewolf king,

Ronald Von Zwick. “Father, can you join me in my office?” he asked.
