After giving his orders at the Pack house, Azriel returns to his villa with a storm of emotions brewing inside him. Sky and James attempted to mind link him along the way, but he couldn’t bear any more interruptions. With a sharp tone, he cut off their attempts before closing the link altogether.

“Contact me only if we are under attack, otherwise give me a break!” he added.

As he stepped inside his home, he found Lora in the kitchen, preparing a plate of food. The sight of her filled him with a sense of longing, but to his relief, she smiled warmly at him. “I hope you like some home-cooked food, but if you want anything else or if you already ate, it’s fine,” she said softly and a bit unsure.

Azriel’s heart swelled at her gesture. “It’s perfect,” he replied, crossing the room to stand beside her. “But you shouldn’t have to work yourself. We could’ve asked one of the chefs.”

She shrugged gently, her eyes softening as she looked at him. “I wanted to do something for you, and we had to eat as well,” she said simply.

He felt a rush of gratitude for her thoughtfulness. “Thank you,” he murmured, reaching out to brush

a stray strand of hair from her face, before cupping her red cheek and kissing her bruised skin in a tender gesture.

She blushed at the unexpected gesture, which made him smile. “Let’s eat, little dove, otherwise I

will eat you,” he told her with a teasing glint in his eyes.

Elora blushed even harder, which made him laugh.

As they sat down at the table together, Elora added a second plate, and they began to eat in

comfortable silence, the warmth of their shared meal easing the tension that had hung in the air.

After some time, she cleared her voice and asked him, “So, did you sort out the issues with your Lu na? What is the story here?”

Azriel smiled tensely at her before starting to tell her what happened in the last 48 hours, about the Council pressure and Alpha Carter’s agenda, Alice’s involvement, and attitude.

Elora looked at him with big eyes, in silence, and after he finished, she said, “Wow! I would never have believed that someone could dare to play with your nerves like this. The mighty Azriel Storm,

the Deathstrike.”

Azriel started to laugh, “Many rumors are exaggerated. Plus, I am trying to be civilized, more

because of my friend Markus, as the Council members just like interfering and playing with my

She nodded, “What will you do next? I can imagine that the Head of the Council will not take it

lightly.”

“Especially as I am currently hosting his daughter in the dungeon,” he added with a devilish glint in

his eyes.

“You what!? You put her in the dungeon?” Elora asked in a shocked voice.

Azriel caressed her face again, before adding in a dark tone, “No one is touching my mate, and they can just walk free without consequences.”

“But Alpha Carter will retaliate against you! Against the pack!” she added, panicked.

“Spoken like a true Luna,” Azriel smiled with pride.

“Azriel! Focus on the issue!” she gasped.

“Don’t worry, my dove. I didn’t reach where I am by letting people dictate me terms. I will deal with it tomorrow and put everyone in their places. Till now, I have kept on tolerating them, but I had enough. Now, forget about this.”

Elora nodded, and after they put the dishes in the dishwasher, they made their way up towards the bedroom. They opened Asher’s room slowly, and Azriel’s heart filled with satisfaction. He still

could not believe that he had a son.

After they entered their bedroom, Azriel asked her to relax, “Do you want to use the washroom

first?”

“I will just brush my teeth quickly,” she replied before going inside. Soon enough, she was back,

while Azriel entered to take a shower.
