Revisiting the Past-2

Her words came out in a rush, the pain of those memories still raw after all these years. “When I
shifted for the first time, I discovered that I was a rare case: an omega born from a long line of
Betas. And to make matters worse, I learned that I was mated to the alpha’s son, who happened to
be my twin sister’s boyfriend.”
The bitterness in her voice was palpable as she spoke, her hands clenching into fists at her sides.
“I was an outcast from the moment the truth came out. My family turned their backs on me, not
knowing what to do with my new status, like I had no control over being an omega, and my sister… full of jealousy and hate, she framed me. She drugged me and left me behind in the forest, at the
mercy of rogues.”
Tears welled up in her eyes as she relived the trauma of that betrayal. Elora’s voice trembled as she continued her story, recounting the darkest moments of her past.
“While I was in the forest, drugged on wolfsbane and alone, I was attacked by two rogues,” she began, her words heavy with the weight of the memories. “I thought that everything was lost, that I would never make it out alive and that I would be r***d. But then… then an Alpha wolf came.”
Her gaze flickered at Azriel, seeing the shock reflected in his expression as she spoke. “He tore down those rogues like they were nothing, like they were nothing but a mere obstacle in his path. And when he found me… he didn’t hesitate to help.”
She took a shaky breath, her eyes never leaving Azriel’s face. “My sister fed me wolfsbane and a herbal potion, which started my heat before abandoning me. Without the mating or proper
medication, I would not have survived the night as an omega.”
As she swallowed her tears, she continued, “The one that helped me that night was you, but I couldn’t recognize you as it was dark in the forest. All I could recall was your touch and the scar
you have on your collarbone.”
Azriel asked her in a chocked voice, “Why didn’t you meet me when I asked you? I waited for you in that day!”
Elora smiled in a sad voice, “Because after you dropped me at the sky resort, once I went inside, I was greeted by Alpha’s family and mine. My sister planned everything to the details, as she told everyone that I was having fun with rogues in the forest and disrespecting the pack and my mate bond. Quite ironic coming from her, as even after I knew who my mate was, they still continued their relationship, feeling the pain of betrayal every day. No one wanted to listen to what I had to say, so my family disowned me, my mate rejected me and my Alpha banished me, despite knowing that an omega can’t survive all this. And, to make sure that I was a sure death, they threw my body

in a river.”
Azriel’s shock was palpable as Elora recounted the harrowing events of her past. He listened in stunned silence, his mind reeling with the weight of her words.
When she finished speaking, the weight of her gaze fell upon him, and he found himself unable to form words. His throat felt dry, constricted, as if the truth of her words had stolen his ability to
speak.
“How did you survive?” he finally managed to choke out, his voice barely a whisper against the
backdrop of the quiet garden.
“Some campers saw my body floating down the river and they saved me. I knew that I was dying
but …” Elora’s voice choked into tears, “my wolf … my wolf sacrificed herself to help me survive.”
Azriel looked at her in shock, hundreds of thoughts rotating in his head.
“And after?” he asked.
“I found myself in a human hospital after two months of coma. My blessing from the Goddess was
that I met Mary, who took me in, offering me a roof over my head.” Elora replied emotionally.
“And…him? Asher?” Azriel asked in a trembling voice.
“I discovered that I was pregnant, and you can imagine the shock, especially that he survived. I gave birth in the human hospital, but it was a very difficult delivery, considering that he is an Alpha pup, and I am human. After that, I went back to school, I worked hard, I became a doctor, and I took care of him.” Elena concluded. “This was my life, till I met you again when I had my birthday party and my colleagues dragged me to the club, and … you know the rest.”
Azriel’s head was spinning as he felt pity, anguish, pain, rage.
“Why didn’t you tell me the truth after you realized that I am his father? You ran away after the first night and even yesterday you kept me in the dark about his existence. I have the right to know. He has the right to know his father. Why?!” he asked, enraged.
“Can you blame me, Azriel?” she snapped in fury. “He is everything to me, everything I have. You know your reputation and how you deal with rogues.”
“You are my mate, it is different!” he argued.
“I had a mate before who wanted nothing to do with me. I knew that I had to tell you, but I just couldn’t. I was scared, Azriel, and I still am. What if you decide that I am not good enough after everything you learn about me, and you will take him from me? I am terrified!” she shouted at him
as she started to sob.

As Elora’s tears flowed freely, Azriel felt a pang of anguish pierce through him. Despite his anger and frustration, hearing her entire story and witnessing her vulnerability melted the icy walls around his heart. He couldn’t bear to see her in such pain, knowing now the depths of her past suffering.
Without hesitation, Azriel rose from his seat and enveloped Elora in his arms, holding her close as she cried uncontrollably. He could feel the tremors wracking her body, the weight of her fear and anguish pressing down upon her.
Gently, he stroked her hair, his touch soft and reassuring, as he pressed a tender kiss to her forehead. “Shh, it’s alright,” he murmured soothingly. “I’m here, Elora. You’re safe now. And don’t be scared, as I would never separate you from your son.”
He took her in his arms as he sat down on a sun lounger with her nestled in his arms. Azriel continued to rock her body until she fully calmed down.
“Now, I believe that it is time for you to introduce me to our son,” Azriel said in a tone full of emotion.
