Surprise Attack-1

Surprise Attack-1

Lora felt her muscles tense the moment she locked eyes with Alex, her former mate. The once proud and handsome alpha heir was now a shadow of his former self. His face was gaunt, his eyes bloodshot, and his hair unkempt. The arrogance and composure he had once carried were replaced by a heavy intoxication; his steps unsteady as he swayed slightly in front of her. She

couldn’t believe how far he had fallen.

As she stood there, staring at the man who had once been her destined mate, Lora was surprised by her own lack of reaction. No anger, no pain, not even a twinge of the old connection she used to feel. It was as if whatever bond had once existed between them had been severed completely. There was no emotion left, only a calm realization that the man before her was part of a past she had long since left behind.

Without a word, Lora turned to Azriel and gently tugged his hand, signaling that they should leave. She had no interest in engaging with Alex, not tonight, not ever again. But before they could move, Alex stepped forward, blocking their path. His once-proud posture was replaced with a slouched, drunken demeanor. The slur in his voice was unmistakable as he spat out, “You should be my Luna.

Lora froze. She felt Azriel stiffen beside her, his patience quickly wearing thin, but Alex continued, stumbling over his words, his tone growing more erratic. “I should be next to you, not this… beast of a man. Do you know what he is? What he does? He loves torture… he loves killing with his bare hands.” His voice dripped with bitterness and resentment, his eyes flicking between her and Azriel.

Lora’s chest tightened, but not out of fear, out of frustration. She had hoped to leave this part of her life behind, and yet here he was, trying to drag her back into the past. Squaring her shoulders, she met Alex’s gaze, her voice cold and unwavering.

“Step aside, Alpha Blackwood,” she said, her tone commanding and sharp.

Alex let out a bitter, mocking laugh. “Alpha Blackwood? You still think of me like that, huh? I see through you, Lora. You’re still my Luna. Your place is in my pack, by my side.” His words were slurred, but there was a sick, delusional confidence behind them. “I know you still have feelings for me. You can’t just forget our mate bond and how I affected you.”

Lora’s eyes widened in shock, unable to believe what she was hearing. “Feelings for you?” she repeated, incredulous. Her voice trembled not with fear but with disgust. “You’re delusional, Alex. Whatever I felt, it ended the moment you chose my sister, and after, rejected me. When you condemned me to death, You were my past, and I’ve moved on. My place is here. With Azriel. With

my family.”

Surprise Attack 1

Azriel, who had been silent until now, took a step forward, his presence radiating quiet menace.

His eyes were locked on Alex, his jaw clenched in barely contained anger. Lora could feel the tension in his body, his wolf, Thunder, practically vibrating beneath his skin. The air between the two men crackled with aggression.

“You should leave,” Azriel said, his voice low, each word laced with barely concealed rage. “You’re not in your right mind, and I won’t allow you to ruin this night for Lora.”

Alex’s drunken laughter echoed once more. “Oh, I know what’s happening here,” he said, pointing a shaky finger at Azriel. “You’re just keeping her prisoner, using your bond to control her. She should

be with someone who understands her.”

Azriel’s eyes flashed dangerously, his patience quickly evaporating. He took another step forward, towering over Alex, his sheer presence enough to make most men cower. But Alex, in his

inebriated state, seemed oblivious to the danger.

“I’m only going to say this once, Alex Balckwood,” Azriel growled. “You will back down and walk away before I lose my temper. You have no claim on Lora, and you never will. She’s my mate, my Luna, and you will not disrespect her.”
