Adoption-2
As soon as the plane door opened, a blast of fresh air hit them, but it did little to ease their anxiety. Tim carefully cradled the girl as they descended the steps, with Dana right by his side. A sleek black SUV waited on the tarmac, and without wasting a moment, Tim and Dana climbed into the back seat, the little girl still secure in Tim’s arms. The driver, one of the pack members, nodded respectfully before speeding off toward the pack’s territory.
The trip was short, but every minute felt like an eternity. Tim couldn’t help but look down at the girl in his arms repeatedly, his heart pounding with worry. Dana reached over and gently squeezed his arm, offering silent support. They were both thinking the same thing: she needed medical
attention, and fast.
When they finally arrived at the pack’s territory, the SUV passed through the gates without hesitation, heading straight to the pack’s clinic.
As the SUV pulled up to the pack’s clinic, Tim and Dana could see Lora and Azriel already waiting outside. The urgency of the situation was etched on their faces. Tim stepped out of the car first, carefully cradling the unconscious little girl in his arms, with Dana following closely behind. The air was thick with tension as they hurried inside.
Once they were inside the clinic, Lora immediately rushed over to them, her healer instincts taking over. She swiftly guided them to a bed where Tim gently laid the girl down. Lora’s eyes were filled with concern as she took in the sight of the frail, unconscious child. Without wasting a moment, she connected the girl to an IV, ensuring that she would receive the proper sustenance her body desperately needed.
Dana stood nearby, her anxiety growing with each passing second. “How is she?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly as she looked at Lora with pleading eyes.
Lora’s brows furrowed as she conducted a quick but thorough examination. She gently touched the girl’s pulse points, her expression growing more serious with each second. Finally, she looked up at Dana and Tim, her voice somber. “I can barely feel her,” Lora admitted. “She’s very fragile, and her body is extremely weak. I have a feeling that what’s keeping her alive is her wolf. Otherwise, she might not have made it this far.”
Even Azriel, the strong and stoic Alpha, felt a pang of pain in his chest as he looked at the small, delicate figure lying on the bed. It was hard to reconcile the idea that someone so young could
have endured so much.
Lora, sensing the severity of the situation, signaled Azriel to come closer. He moved to her side, his expression serious. Lora closed her eyes, placing her hands gently on the girl’s chest. A warm, soft

glow began to emanate from her hands as she used her healing abilities to channel strength into
the girl’s weakened body. The glow spread over the girl like a protective blanket, infusing her with warmth and vitality.
Several long moments passed in silence, the only sound in the room the soft hum of medical equipment. Finally, Lora finished, her glow fading as she stepped back, slightly exhausted from the
effort. “Physically, she should have more strength now,” Lora said, her voice tinged with both relief
and caution. “But emotionally…it will be a long and difficult journey. Her trauma runs deep.”
Tim and Dana nodded in understanding, their resolve hardening. “We’re here for her,” Tim said firmly. “We’ll do whatever it takes.”
Azriel, looked at them both. “Are you sure you’re ready to do this?” he asked, his voice carrying the weight of his concern. “This isn’t just about taking care of a child. It’s about keeping her safe from those who would do her harm. It’s a lifelong commitment, and it won’t be easy.”
Tim didn’t hesitate. “Yes,” he said, his voice steady. “She’s our daughter now. We’re ready.”
Azriel nodded, satisfied with Tim’s determination. “Good,” he said. “I’ll ask the lawyers to prepare a
set of documents to ensure her adoption is complete and that there are no traces to her original identity. Only six of us know the truth, and I’d like it to remain that way. Not even James or Sky will
be aware.”
Before they could discuss further, the room fell into a sudden silence, interrupted by a small, faint stir from the bed. Everyone froze, their attention snapping back to the little girl. To their surprise, they saw her tiny form begin to move as she made a weak attempt to open her eyes.
Dana’s breath caught in her throat, and Tim leaned in closer, his heart pounding in his chest. The girl’s eyelids fluttered, and after a moment of struggle, she managed to open them, revealing a pair
of bright, but frightened, blue eyes.
“Shh, it’s okay,” Dana whispered, her voice trembling with emotion as she moved closer to the bed, reaching out to gently brush the girl’s hair back. “You’re safe now, sweetie. You’re safe.”
The little girl’s eyes darted around the room, her confusion and fear evident, but she didn’t move or speak. She just stared up at them, her small chest rising and falling rapidly.
A single tear rolled down her cheek, and she slowly closed her eyes again, exhaustion overtaking
her once more.
