Late Night Visit-2
The three men nodded in unison, the gravity of the situation fully sinking in. They had been through
battles before, faced off against powerful enemies, but this… this was something different. The
stakes were higher than ever, and the margin for error was razor-thin.
“We’re not just fighting for ourselves anymore,” Azriel said, his voice filled with resolve. “We’re fighting for every pack, every innocent life, and for the future of our kind. We can’t afford to fail. We
won’t fail.”
As the tension in the room began to settle after the intense discussion about the Lycans and the Dispell Poems, Azriel leaned back in his chair, his face still etched with the serious expressions that had marked the conversation. He was about to dismiss the group when James, clearly still troubled by another matter, spoke up.
“Azriel,” James began cautiously, “what should we do with our ‘special guest’ in the dungeon? We’ve kept him under the highest security as you ordered, but….what exactly did he do to warrant such secrecy and such extreme measures?”
The question hung in the air, heavy with unspoken implications. Sky also leaned in slightly, his curiosity piqued by the mention of this mysterious prisoner. They had been following Azriel’s orders without question when Tim returned with a prisoner wearing a mask, but the truth behind this guest’s identity had been a mystery even to them.
Azriel’s expression darkened, his eyes narrowing as the memories of the past flooded back to him. The room seemed to grow colder as the weight of what he was about to reveal settled over everyone. He paused for a moment, his jaw tightening as if he were wrestling with whether or not to say what was on his mind. Finally, he met James’s gaze, his voice low and filled with a controlled fury that sent chills through the room.
“What I am going to tell you needs to remain here and here only, and you need to trust me and my reasons, despite being inclined to disagree with me once you learn the truth. Let’s just say,” Azriel began, his voice steady but laced with venom, “that he was the one responsible for my parents’ deaths and the destruction of our pack many years ago.”
For a moment, it was as if the air had been sucked out of the room. The shock was palpable, and then came the anger, a fury that sparked in the eyes of all three men before him. They shot to their feet almost simultaneously, their voices rising in unison.
“What?!”
The word was an explosion of outrage, disbelief, and a thirst for vengeance that rattled the walls. James’s fists clenched at his sides, his face reddening with fury. Sky’s eyes were wide, his usual

calm demeanor shattered by the revelation.
James was the first to speak again, his voice trembling with barely contained rage. “But I tought that there were to rogues who attacked our pack and caused all the grief and destructions. How he’s the one? The one who tore apart our pack? How is this possible?”
Azriel nodded, his face set in stone. “Yes. That’s why I ordered the highest level of security. He’s a dangerous man, and he has many allies who would gladly see him freed. He’s not just any prisoner, he’s the mastermind behind the tragedy that almost wiped us out. He is the one who paid the rogues and draw the massacre plan for all of us.”
Sky looked like he was about to explode. “Azriel, why didn’t you tell us this sooner? We would have
“I didn’t tell you because I just find out recently,” Azriel interrupted, his voice firm but not unkind. “I needed to confirm certain things first, and I couldn’t risk him knowing that we were onto him. Secrecy was our best weapon. If he had known we were aware of his identity from the start, he could have used that against us. We couldn’t afford that, not with everything else going on.”
As the tense atmosphere in the room settled into a heavy silence, James, still visibly seething with anger, couldn’t hold back any longer. “What’s going to happen to him, Azriel?” he demanded, his voice taut with fury. “Is he going to be publicly punished for what he did? The pack deserves to know the truth!”
