him, Azriel stood, arms crossed, his expression as unreadable as ever. The Deathstrike was a man

of few words, but his presence spoke volumes. His unwavering loyalty and fierce determination

were exactly what Markus needed at that moment.

“We need to catch Carter in the act,” Markus said, breaking the heavy silence.

Azriel nodded, his gaze cold and calculating. “Agreed. But how do you propose we do it? We have

no concrete evidence, only suspicion based on Kaia’s premonition and his strange behavior.”

Markus leaned forward, his eyes burning with resolve. “We set a trap. We know he’s desperate and

on edge. We create a situation where he’ll feel compelled to act, to show his hand.”

Azriel raised an eyebrow. “And what situation would that be? He’s already tried to push us into an

attack, but we didn’t bite. He’s cautious now.”

Markus’s jaw clenched as he considered the options. “We need to make him think we’re about to discover his betrayal. Something that will force him to take drastic action.”

Azriel’s eyes narrowed as he followed Markus’s line of thinking. “You want to push him to the brink, make him desperate enough to make a mistake.”

“Exactly,” Markus confirmed. “We let it slip that we have new information, something that might

expose the traitor in our midst. We’ll see how he reacts.”

“And what if he doesn’t take the bait?” Azriel asked, his voice measured. “What if he decides to lie

low instead?”

Markus shook his head, his eyes darkening with determination. “Then we confront him directly.

We’ll call a Council meeting, but instead of discussing strategy, we’ll accuse him outright. I’ll use

my Alpha King command to force him to confess. Once the truth is out, there will be no denying his betrayal, especially in front of others.”

Azriel considered this for a moment, then nodded. “It’s risky. If we misstep, we could drive him deeper into the enemy’s hands.”

“I’m aware,” Markus replied, his voice low and firm. “But I will not tolerate traitors in my pack. Carter’s actions have put all of us at risk, and he must be held accountable. I am still recovering

from the shock. After Stone’s heinous acts, now Carter.”

Azriel uncrossed his arms, his expression hardening. “And once he confesses? What then?”

we reveal the truth.”

“I’ll handle the preparations,” Azriel said, his voice a calm reassurance. “We’ll need to keep this tight, with no leaks. Carter can’t know what’s coming.”

Markus smiled grimly. “Good. Let’s get started.”

The following morning, Markus summoned the council for an emergency meeting. The

atmosphere in the room was tense, the Council members exchanging wary glances as they waited

for the King to speak. Councilman Carter was among them, his expression carefully neutral,

though Markus could see the unease lurking beneath the surface.

Markus cleared his throat, drawing everyone’s attention. “Thank you for coming on such short

notice,” he began, his voice steady and authoritative. “There are pressing matters that need to be

addressed.”
