Selection Interviews-1

Kaia sat quietly, her mind racing as she looked at the first candidate’s photo, Alisa Morven. Her hands trembled slightly, a mix of anxiety and anticipation bubbling inside her. Lora, sensing her unease, placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and spoke in a calm, soothing tone.

“Take a deep breath, Kaia,” Lora whispered. “Try to relax, focus on the photo, and let yourself go.

You can do this.”

Kaia nodded, following Lora’s advice. She took a long, deep breath, then exhaled slowly, allowing her mind to clear. With a newfound sense of calm, she concentrated on Alisa’s photo, her fingers gently brushing against the image.

Suddenly, it was as if the world around her exploded into a flurry of vivid images, like fireworks lighting up her mind. She was no longer in the room with Lora but in a whirlwind of scenes and emotions. It felt like watching a movie in fast-forward, the images flickering rapidly before her

eyes.

Kaia saw Alisa working diligently in the castle, her movements precise and methodical. But beneath the surface, there was a tension between them. Alisa’s loyalty to the previous Queen was obvious, and it manifested in subtle ways: disapproving glances, veiled comparisons, and small acts of resistance. Kaia felt the sting of these moments, understanding that they would never see eye to eye. Their collaboration would be fraught with conflict and power struggles.

As the vision faded, Kaia snapped back to reality, gasping for air. She felt exhausted, her body trembling from the intensity of the experience. “Water,” she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Lora was beside her in an instant, handing her a glass of water. She placed her hands on Kaia’s shoulders, channeling her healing energy. Almost immediately, Kaia felt her strength returning, the fatigue lifting from her body. She smiled at Lora with deep gratitude.

“Thank you, Lora. You truly are a miracle worker,” Kaia said, her voice stronger now.

Lora returned the smile, her eyes sparkling with pride. “Don’t mention it. But tell me, did it work? Did you see anything?”

Kaia nodded, still astonished by what she had experienced. “Yes, it worked. I saw everything, like a fast-forward movie. Alisa is competent, no doubt, but she would be a problem. She worked closely with the past queen, and she would constantly compare me to her, undermining my authority in the process. It would not be a successful collaboration.”

“Wow,” Lora said, her voice filled with awe. “That’s incredible. You were able to see all that?”

“Yes,” Kaia echoed, still processing the vision. “I never believed I could control it.”

Lora grinned, her confidence in Kaia unwavering. “I told you, you could do it. Now, are you ready to

try again?”

Kaia took a deep breath, steeling herself for the next vision. She nodded and picked up the next photo, that of Corwin Voss. As soon as her fingers touched the image, the same rush of images

and emotions flooded her mind.

When Kaia returned to reality, she felt a wave of irritation wash over her. She pushed Corwin’s file. aside with a frown. “Let’s just say I would never be able to work with someone like him,” she said, her tone laced with disdain. “He’s the type who would sell even his own mother for personal gain. Ambitious, yes, but ruthless and utterly unethical. He’s driven, but in all the wrong ways. He is

shallow and all about appearances.”

Lora grimaced, her face reflecting Kaia’s disgust. “Ugh, sounds like a real piece of work. Are you ready for the third one?”

Kaia nodded, though she could feel the toll these visions were taking on her. With determination, she picked up the third photo, that of Tamsin Fadal. Once again, the familiar sensation of being pulled into a whirlwind of images overwhelmed her.

This time, when she returned to the present, Kaia was utterly drained. But Lora, ever the healer, was there to replenish her strength. The warmth from Lora’s hands seeped into her, reviving her

spirit.

Lora looked at her expectantly. “Now, tell me about Tamsin.”

Kaia smiled, but it was a sad smile, tinged with the emotions she had witnessed. “Tamsin is fantastic: a dream employee, really. But she’s hiding so much suffering. She’s been through so much and has had to work incredibly hard to prove herself and reach where she is today. Despite all that, she’s someone I could see doing amazing things with. We’d make a great team for the next

year or so.”
