Sacrifice-2

“No!” Ava’s wolf growled, leaping in front of her daughter. She took the brunt of a rogue’s attack, a

fatal blow that would have ended Lora. Tim executed the rogue, but the damage was done. Ava collapsed, blood pouring from her wounds.

“Mother!” Lora cried, kneeling beside her. Her hands trembled as she tried to channel her healing gift, but she was too exhausted. Tears of frustration and fear fell from her eyes. “Please, Mother,

stay with me.”

Ava’s eyes fluttered open, filled with pain and regret. “Elora,” she whispered, her voice weak. “I… ‘m so sorry. For everything. I don’t deserve your forgiveness.”

“Don’t talk like that, Mother. You’ll be fine. I can heal you,” Elora insisted, her voice breaking.

Ava shook her head slightly. “I don’t deserve your gift. I… I met with… Alena. Tried to make her repent, seek forgiveness.”

Lora’s heart twisted with confusion and sorrow while trying to apply the first-aid maneuvers on her, her instinct of doctor kicking in. “Mother, please, save your strength, don’t speak.”

Ava’s eyes softened, a faint smile on her lips. “You have… a kind heart, my daughter. I missed you so much, and I realized that I didn’t show it to you even when you were with us. We were so blind…”

With those words, Ava’s eyes closed, her body went limp. Lora’s sobs echoed through the room as she clung to her mother’s lifeless form.

“No, no, no!” she cried, shaking with grief. “Mother, come back. I am not done talking to you!”

Tim and Dana stood guard, their faces grim but respectful as they gave Lora a moment with her mother. The battle raged outside, but for Elora, time stood still.

Azriel burst into the infirmary, his eyes widening at the scene. “Lora!” He rushed to her side, pulling her into his arms. “I felt your distress, my dove. You are hurt!!!”

Lora buried her face in his chest, her body wracked with sobs. “She’s gone, Azriel. She’s gone.”

He held her tightly, his own heart breaking for her. “We’ll get through this, Elora. I promise. But we need to stay strong now. Let’s get you to a safe place!”

Elora nodded, her tears still flowing. She looked at her mother’s face one last time, a mixture of pain and resolution in her eyes.

“Rest in peace, Mother,” she whispered. “I’ll try to forgive, but I’ll never forget.”

Azriel helped her to her feet, and they left the infirmary together, the weight of loss heavy on their

The rogues were finally pushed back, but the victory came at a steep cost. The Black Forest pack had suffered heavy losses, and the air was thick with the scent of blood and the sound of

mourning. As the dust settled, the full extent of the devastation became clear. Warriors lay scattered, some injured, some lifeless, and the pack members moved among them, searching for

loved ones and tending to the wounded, while throwing the dead rogues at fire.

Lora and Azriel stood in the aftermath of the chaos, their own injuries forgotten in the face of the

pack’s suffering.

Her father, Beta Graham, approached them with a broken expression. Tears streamed down his face, and his steps were heavy with grief. He had felt the mate bond snap during the battle, signaling Ava’s death.

“She’s gone,” Beta Graham choked out, his voice trembling. “Your mother is gone.”

Elora’s heart ached at his pain, but before she could respond, Alex rushed towards her. His eyes were wide with concern as he took in her injuries. “Elora, are you okay?”

Azriel growled, stepping protectively in front of Lora. “Concern yourself with your pack, Alex.”

Alex’s face twisted in anger. “What kind of mate are you, Azriel? You couldn’t even protect Elora

from being injured!”

The atmosphere grew tense as Azriel’s aura flared, his power palpable. “You dare question my ability to protect my mate? You, who rejected her and left her to suffer?”

“I was blind,” Alex admitted, his voice trembling with a mix of regret and anger. “But I see now.

Elora was always meant to be my Luna.”

“Your what?!” Azriel replied as he felt his control snapping.
