The news of this abuse spread like wildfire, tarnishing their reputation beyond immediate repair. Alpha Ben taking back the leadership from his son, Alex, only added to the turmoil. This move, seen as a regression, signaled instability and a lack of confidence in the younger generation’s ability to lead, as in extremely rare cases usually this type of move happens.

The greatest shock came when Alena, the pride of the Beta pair and the current Luna, was revealed to be at the heart of a horrible deception. Her web of lies and manipulative actions, aimed at securing power and influence, left everyone reeling. But the revelation that they had condemned an innocent Elora, her own sister, to death struck a deep blow. For Alpha Ben, a leader who had always prided himself on fairness, the guilt was unbearable.

The Beta family, equally devastated, struggle to reconcile the image of their beloved Alena with the reality of her actions, waves of regret and disbelief hitting their chests. Their shock deepened when Alena refused to accept her new status as an omega, the lowest rank in the pack, and sought redemption. Her defiance culminated in her departure from the pack, leaving behind a trail of broken trust and shattered bonds.

Initially, she attempts to win back Alex, claiming her actions were driven by her love for him. But Alex, repulsed by her cruelty and betrayal, finds any remnants of affection for her completely extinguished. Also, her betrayal when she begged King Markus to accept their bond, once she discovered that the king himself was her fated mate, left a bitter taste for everyone present, especially Alex.

Alpha Ben’s disappointment in his son was palpable. The heated arguments that followed King Markus’s departure were filled with accusations and admissions of failure. Alex confessed to betraying the mate bond with Elora by engaging in sexual activities with Alena before his fated mate bond was severed.

Alpha Ben and his remaining loyal members faced an uphill battle, striving to restore the integrity and strength that had once defined them.

The onslaught of the pandemic was the final blow to the already weakened Black Forest Pack. With members succumbing rapidly to the relentless infection, the pack’s numbers dwindled, and their spirits sank to new depths. Alpha Ben, determined to save his people, sent numerous pleas for assistance to King Markus. He had heard whispers of the miraculous Goddess Gift, a mysterious savior whose healing powers were reverently spoken of among other packs and even

vampire covens.

To his dismay, his calls for help went unanswered. Communication with other alphas revealed stories of miraculous recoveries, entire packs saved from the brink of extinction, all thanks to the Goddess Gift. Yet, despite these hopeful tales, no aid arrived for the Black Forest Pack. Each day that passed without assistance deepened their despair, as more pack members fell ill, and hope seemed all but lost. He tried to address this with King Markus, as in the past his pack had a privileged position with the Royal pack, but the king replied to him that the Goddess Gift is taking the packs and covens one by one, and that when their time came, they would know.
