“My parents sold me when I was just a child,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “They traded me in exchange for their debts to be cleared. From that moment, I lost any control over my

life and decisions. I became a slave, a pet. Stephan, the vampire king’s nephew, bought me. He’s

cruel, controlling, and sadistic. For the last fifteen years, I’ve been nothing more than his property.”

Tim’s eyes widened with shock and anger. “A slave? A pet? That’s illegal, Dana. You’re your own

person.”

Dana smiled sadly, shaking her head. “In the werewolf world, maybe. But the vampire society operates differently. They have their own laws, their own ways of doing things. And Stephan… he’s untouchable. He’s influential and powerful.”

Tim’s fists clenched at his sides, his anger simmering just below the surface. “What if Azriel and I purchase you back? We can offer whatever it takes to buy your freedom.”

Dana sighed, her eyes filled with sorrow. “Even if by some miracle you managed to purchase me, Stephan would never let it go. He is very possessive over everything that he considers his property, and once with the age, he finds enjoyment in others’ suffering and torment. He’d take revenge by killing you out of spite. He’s a vengeful man, Tim. He doesn’t fight fair. He uses dirty tricks and devious methods to get what he wants.”

Tim’s jaw tightened, his eyes blazing with anger. “I’m not afraid of Stephan. I’ll protect you, Dana. We’ll find a way to deal with him.”

Dana reached out, placing a hand on Tim’s arm, trying to convey the gravity of the situation. “You don’t understand. Stephan isn’t just any vampire. He’s the king’s nephew. He has resources and connections that make him incredibly dangerous. If you try to stand up to him, he’ll destroy you. He won’t fight honorably. He’ll use every underhanded tactic to ensure you suffer.”

Tim looked at her, his heart aching with the depth of her despair. “I can’t just sit back and do nothing. I’ll fight for you, no matter what.”

Tim held Dana tightly in his arms, the warmth of their embrace providing a moment of solace during all the turmoil. He leaned back slightly to look into her eyes, his voice gentle but filled with determination. “Dana, I have only one question for you. Is Stephan the only thing keeping you away

from me, or is there another reason?”

Dana met his gaze, her eyes filled with a mixture of pain and love. “Stephan is the main reason,

Tim. But, I don’t feel worthy of the bond we share.”

Tim shook his head, cutting her off. “Don’t say that. I was an idiot for how I acted last night. I will

work to gain your forgiveness, but you have to admit your fault too. You didn’t trust me or our bord at all. I promise you, I’ll find a way out of this. We need to play it smart. I’ll talk to Azriel and see

what we can do.”

Dana nodded, a glimmer of hope in her eyes. “I agree, but on one condition. We need to act normal like before and not draw any attention to ourselves until we have a solution.”

Tim leaned in, capturing her lips in a tender kiss, sealing their pact with a promise of trust and unity. “Deal.”

They quickly prepared to leave, packing their bags with a newfound sense of purpose. As they reached the convoy, Azriel and Lora raised an eyebrow at the sight of them together. Tim approached Azriel, his expression serious.

“Azriel, can we ride together? I need to iron out some security details.”

Azriel nodded, sensing the gravity in Tim’s voice. “Of course.”

Once they were all in the car, Tim mind-linked Azriel, explaining the entire situation in detail. Azriel’s face grew somber as he listened, absorbing the weight of Dana’s plight and Tim’s resolve.

When Tim finished, Azriel remained silent for a moment, processing the information. Finally, he spoke, his voice firm. “It won’t be easy, but you have my full support. The Goddess’s mate bond is a gift, and we will do everything we can to protect it.”
