light, Tim stirred, his head pounding with the telltale signs of a hangover. The previous night’s events began to seep into his consciousness like a slow-moving tsunami He winced, his body tensing as the memories came flooding back: the anger, the jealousy, ignoring Dana, flirting with that warrior she-wolf, and even kissing her. Horror settled in his chest as he

realized the full extent of his actions.

He glanced down at Dana, sleeping peacefully in his arms, her face serene and innocent. A pang of guilt twisted in his gut. Despite his anger, he was not the type to cheat, especially not after marking

her. The bond between them made the betrayal all the more painful, and he knew she must have

felt it all. The thought of her feeling that betrayal through the bond made him feel sick.

Tim gently disentangled himself from Dana, careful not to wake her. He needed a moment to gather his thoughts, to prepare himself for the difficult conversation ahead. As he sat on the edge of the bed, cradling his throbbing head in his hands, he acknowledged the raw pain still lingering in his chest. He had acted out of spite, out of a need to punish her for the hurt he felt, but he couldn’t bring himself to sleep with someone else.

He stood up and made his way to the small bathroom adjoining their room. Splashing cold water on his face, he stared at his reflection in the mirror. His eyes were bloodshot, his expression haggard. He had to face the truth; running away was not an option. Azriel was right. A serious discussion with Dana was long overdue.

Taking a deep breath, Tim returned to the bedroom and sat down next to Dana, noticing that she was almost awake. She stirred, her eyes fluttering open, and when she saw him, a mix of emotions crossed her face-relief, sadness, and a touch of apprehension.

“Dana,” Tim began, his voice low and rough, “we need to talk.”

She sat up slowly, pulling the blanket around her for warmth. “I know,” she replied softly, her eyes avoiding his.

Tim took her hand in his, feeling the warmth of her skin against his palm. “I’m sorry for everything that happened last night. I was angry and hurt, and I let my emotions get the best of me. I never meant to hurt you like that.”

Dana’s eyes filled with tears, but she nodded. “I felt it all, Tim. Every bit of your pain and anger. It was unbearable. Especially when you touched that she-wolf and left with her.”

Tim’s grip on her hand tightened. “I know, and that’s why we need to talk about everything. I need to understand what’s going on with you, with … this … other man. I need to know where we stand. Do you love him? Do you want to be with him,” he asked her in a strangled voice. The question was

Tim listened to her in silence without commenting, giving her the chance to find her words and

explain.

Dana took a long, steadying breath, feeling the weight of her story pressing down on her. She knew it was time to come clean, to reveal the full extent of her situation to Tim. Lora had been right, he

deserved to know the truth.

“Tim,” she began, her voice trembling slightly, “you need to know everything.”

Tim’s eyes were focused on her, filled with concern and determination. He nodded, urging her to

continue.
