Markus made his way towards the pack house with Kaia still over his shoulder. Kaia was a tumultuous mix of embarrassment, annoyance, anger, and…maybe a bit of arousal. She couldn’t deny that his bold move shocked her to the core. But she was still upset with him about the entire marking fiasco.

Once they reached the Pack House, Markus entered their room and gently placed Kaia in the middle of the bed. As soon as her feet touched the mattress, she sprang into action, bolting towards the door. Markus caught her just in time, trapping her against the door with his body. She

tried to push him aside, but a wave of electric current coursed through her body as she felt his

arousal when she pressed on his hard body.

She blushed, trying to maintain her resolve. “I want to leave,” she said, but Markus’s predatory look

told her otherwise.

“You’re not going anywhere, mate,” he replied, his voice low and filled with a dangerous edge. She

could see his wolf, Stinger, just beneath the surface, and she could feel her wolf, Sierra, stirring

inside her, pushing for control.

Kaia looked conflicted, her breath coming in quick, shallow bursts. Markus gently caressed her

face, his touch sending shivers down her spine. “Our wolves are pushing for control. They want

their mates. We didn’t complete the mating, and the bond is driving our beasts crazy, almost feral

to be with each other.”

Kaia pleaded with Sierra internally, “Please, don’t fight with me, Sierra. I never denied you anything.”

But Sierra’s voice was firm, full of need with feral inflections. “I want my mate. I need my mate. I’m

sorry, Kaia, but the pull is too strong. I don’t want to resist. Please, I’m begging you. I need Stinger!”

Kaia looked at Markus, seeing him struggle with the same issue, his eyes flashing Stinger’s electric blue. She took a long breath and told him a totally unexpected sentence. “Let’s go for a run.”

Markus looked at her, surprised. “Are you sure?”

Kaia nodded, determination in her eyes. Markus cupped her face, his thumb tracing her cheek. “You know what this means, right?”

She looked confused, and he continued, “Once we shift, our wolves won’t resist the mate bond. They will mate.”

Kaia paused, understanding his words. Usually, humans mate first and only after the beasts. After a moment, she nodded again. “I know. Let’s go.”

They made their way outside, the cool night air tingling on their skin. The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the forest. They stripped down, allowing their wolves to take over. Markus shifted first, his powerful silver wolf with electric blue eyes, Stinger, shaking out his fur. Kaia followed, Sierra’s sleek black form emerging with a graceful stretch.

As soon as they were both in wolf form, the pull of the mate bond became undeniable. They looked at each other, eyes locking in an understanding that went beyond words. With a burst of energy, Sierra jumped in front of him, nipping one of his ears before running away into the forest. Stinger gave her a few moments before chasing her.

After a while, they slowed down, coming to a stop in a moonlit clearing. Stinger nuzzled Sierra, his eyes filled with a mix of affection and desire. Sierra responded in kind, her body pressing close to his. The bond between them crackled with intensity, and there was no turning back.

Their wolves gave in to the primal urge, the need to complete their bond. They circled each other, movements fluid and instinctual. When they finally came together, it was with a fierce, all-consuming passion that left no room for doubt or hesitation. Their bond solidified, both wolves

and humans feeling the profound connection deep within their souls.

As they lay together in the clearing, panting from the exertion, their wolves began to recede,

allowing their human forms to take over once more. Markus and Kaia found themselves wrapped in each other’s arms, the night air cooling their heated skin.

Markus pressed a gentle kiss on Kaia’s forehead. “Are you okay?” he whispered.

Kaia nodded, a contented smile spreading across her face. “Yes, I’m more than okay. I never

believed that it would feel so intense.”
