When Autumn said she wanted to blast those bugs to dust, she wasn’t joking: She meant every word, and she planned to do exactly that.

Beckett pointed at the attack route. “We’ll fire the bunker busters from this side. Follow them with thermite incendiaries. Over here, create a continuous fire line that covers the entire shipyard. Then add fuel-air explosives, followed by gas bombs. Here, here, and here… Set demolition charges.”

As he laid out the plan, Beckett explained the plan to Autumn. “If we’re going to wipe them out completely, we might as well do it right and sink this abandoned shipyard for good. Mutant creatures have their own food chain. We’ll lure the mutated sea creatures in and let them finish off any bugs that survive.”

Autumn nodded. “I like that plan.”

Beckett continued, “The problem now is figuring out how we get out after we blow it up. Once those bombs go off, this whole area, already weakened by the acid rain, will probably sink. We can’t let ourselves get caught in it. So we need to have the survival pod ready ahead of time.”

Autumn replied, “No problem. I’ve got them with me. There are only a little over a dozen of us. A twenty-person survival pod is more than enough. Even if the explosion causes a small earthquake or tsunami, we’ll be fine.”

‘Good. Then it’s settled.” Beckett tapped the table. “Everyone, listen up!”

The dozen team members, along with Autumn, immediately stood at attention.

Beckett glanced at Autumn. “Your job is to place all the weapons at their assigned locations.”

“Yes, sir!”

Then he turned to the others. “Your team will move in from this side, circle around carefully, avoid detection, and plant explosives here… and here…”

One order after another, he assigned everyone their tasks.

As the commander, Beckett stayed focused on coordinating the whole operation. If one team fell behind, he immediately redirected others to fill the gap.

Everyone had their hands full.

Once the plan was set, it was time to move.

Maybe because Autumn had killed so many bugs earlier, the broodmother had called all the adult bugs back to the nest. Instead of chasing after Autumn and the others, they worked nonstop, laying and hatching eggs at full speed.

It just showed that while those bugs had evolved, their brains hadn’t improved much. If they had been dealing with mutant animals that had actually gotten smarter, running away would have been the best choice.

Everything was in position.

Beckett calmly gave the order. “Team One, fire!”

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The powerful bunker busters launched at carefully planned angles, flying straight toward the broodmother’s location.

They easily punched through the shipyard, the concrete floor, and deep into the underground basement.

Then the rest of the ammunition followed. Every type of shelfrained down according to the plan, as if they had an endless supply.

“Whoa!” Autumn cheered while launching missiles. “This is amazing! Weapons like this are the best! Hahaha!”

After laughing, she went to bring back the launch vehicles.

Those things were priceless. Every single one had to be brought back.

In the future, they’d be impossible to replace.

By the time Autumn had stored away all the launch vehicles and returned to Beckett’s side, the team responsible for setting the fuses had also made it back.

“Quick! Get into the survival pod!” Autumn grabbed two people at a time and shoved everyone inside. Then she slipped in herself, sealed the hatch, and activated the protective systems in one smooth motion.

The very next second, the ground beneath them began to shake.

Boom!

The ground collapsed!

The survival pod fell into the sea along with broken rock and dirt. It tumbled several times beneath the waves before finally settling down.

gnoring her dizziness, Autumn quickly climbed up and looked outside.

The entire shipyard, along with everything within nearly one mile of it, had been blown apart and swallowed by the sea.

The bugs screamed and shrieked as they were wiped out.

Even the lucky few that escaped were tossed into the ocean, where they stood no chance.

Slugs liked damp places, but they couldn’t live underwater forever.

The mutant sea creatures were far fiercer. The surviving bugs had little hope of making it out alive.

Autumn shouted, “Let’s move! Move! That explosion definitely got the attention of the giant mutant sea creatures. Unless you want to end up as dinner, let’s get out of here!”

The moment she finished speaking, the survival pod shot away like a torpedo, speeding off as fast as it could.

Less than three minutes after they escaped, a gigantic fish appeared where they had been. It slowly turned its head as if searching for something, then sank back into the deep.

Once the water finally calmed, Autumn climbed out of the survival pod and released a boat from her storage space. She pulled
