Chapter 248 Great Flesh Molų
Chapter 248 Great Flesh Mold
“No, it’s too dangerous!” someone objected. “Mr. Asher, your life is more important than anything else!”
“What do you think, Beckett?” Autumn turned to him.
Conflict was written all over Beckett’s face, but in the end, he decided it was worth the risk.
“Be careful,” Beckett said. “We promise we won’t slow you down. The second anything feels wrong…”
She has to hide in the storage space immediately.
Autumn gave Beckett a look to show she understood.
Beckett immediately waved the others back, and they took cover.
Autumn returned to the wall.
Sure enough, only a small portion of the flesh mold had been drawn toward the main burial chamber
Most of it still clung peacefully to the wall, breathing in a slow, steady rhythm.

After thinking for a moment, Autumn pulled out a pile of compost and nutrient-rich soil from the storage space and placed it at the foot of the wall.
“Alright, big guy, this is for you. Take it, and maybe do me one little favor in return.” Autumn backed away a few steps, raised both hands to show she meant no harm, and dipped her head respectfully.
The flesh mold on the wall remained perfectly still.
Autumn pulled out a full offering of fresh beef, lamb, and pork from the storage space and tried again.
The flesh mold still didn’t move.
Autumn added another offering of chicken, duck, and fish.
The flesh mold remained motionless.
Autumn wondered whether she’d guessed wrong. Maybe the flesh mold hadn’t developed intelligence, or perhaps it wasn’t flesh mold at all.
Just as Autumn was about to give up, a book slipped from the pile of beef.
She looked down and recognized a book of old rituals and folk superstitions. During the extreme cold, she’d gotten bored and randomly picked it out from the books she’d taken from the library. Once she finished it, she tossed it into the storage space. Apparently, it had landed among the meat and gotten pulled out with the beef and lamb.
Autumn bent down to pick it up, but the moment her fingers touched the cover, an idea came to her.
She returned to where she’d been standing, pulled out three small candles, lit them, and set them upright in the dirt.
Then she lowered her head and repeated one of the formal requests from the book. “Great Flesh Mold, I brought you these gifts and mean you no harm. Please accept them, help me out, and let me leave safely.”

Chapter 248 Great Flesh Mold
Autumn waited, but the flesh mold above her didn’t react.

Just as she decided the whole thing had failed and prepared to leave, the flesh mold on the wall suddenly moved.
A massive hand-shaped tendril shot out with astonishing speed and swallowed every offering Autumn had laid out.
Autumn’s eyes widened.
The men watching from a distance nearly had their eyes pop out of their heads.
What the hell?
It actually worked.
This is unbelievable!
Seeing that the flesh mold had accepted her offerings, Autumn immediately pointed toward the secondary burial chamber. “Great Flesh Mold, could you open that door for me? I’ve got plenty more where that came from.”
The flesh mold glanced at Autumn, withdrew its tendril in satisfaction, and actually began moving toward the secondary burial chamber.
The expert watching from a distance nearly danced with excitement. “Oh, my God! It actually understood her-mmph, mmmph…” Beckett clamped a hand tightly over his mouth before he could finish.
They couldn’t afford to distract Autumn now.
Then, right before everyone’s eyes, the door to the secondary burial chamber opened.
Autumn was overjoyed. Feeling suddenly generous, she pulled out mountains of meat and soil from the storage space.
“Thanks, Great Flesh Mold!” she called out.
The flesh mold shifted its massive body over the offerings and devoured everything within seconds. Then it slowly retreated back into the wall and ignored them once more.
Autumn signaled to Beckett and the others, and Beckett immediately rushed over with his men.
They were too excited to form a coherent sentence. “It worked. It actually worked. How is that even possible?”
Autumn raised a finger. “Shh. Let’s get to work first.”
“Right, right. Work first.” Beckett and the others stopped talking and entered through the open doorway.
Autumn snapped a glow stick and tossed it inside.
Its light revealed rows upon rows of grave goods and mountains of gold.
Everyone drew a sharp breath. “There’s so much.”
Autumn said, “Keep watch. Let’s finish this fast.”
“Got it.” They spread out to different positions and remained on high alert.
