Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 314

Phoenix's phone buzzed with an incoming call.

It was Pierce Sterling.

"I saw the circus online. Need me to step in and handle it?" Pierce's deep voice drifted through the speaker, carrying a lazy drawl that proved he wasn't remotely intimidated by the media frenzy.

Phoenix's lips curved upward in exasperation. "You just have too much free time on your hands, Pierce. If you seriously intended to intervene, you wouldn't be calling to ask for permission."

Pierce paused. It was true that he had time to kill, but honestly, he just wanted an excuse to call and hear her voice.

"So, you already have a game plan?"

"Yes." Phoenix nodded, her gaze turning cold and calculated. "This is just the appetizer. They're going to dial up the intensity soon. I'll be waiting for them right at the peak of their arrogance."

"Understood. I'll grab some popcorn and enjoy the show, then," Pierce replied, a distinct note of anticipation in his tone.

Phoenix ended the call and shook her head. She suddenly realized Pierce had been paying far more attention to her lately than ever before.

Weren't they just partners? There was no need for him to hover this closely.

"Yolanda, head to Ignis Global."

"Right away."

Macy Monroe had already texted her in a frenzy, demanding to know what was going on.

Phoenix hadn't bothered typing out a long explanation, simply replying that they would talk when she arrived at the office.

At this exact moment, Macy was absolutely livid. She wanted nothing more than to unleash Ignis Global's entire PR team to scorch the internet and scrub every single hateful comment aimed at Phoenix.

"This is infuriating! How can these people spew such disgusting filth?" Macy glared murderously at her phone screen, aggressively typing out blistering replies to the haters one by one. "Secretary Lane, get the team together and fire back at them!"

*Phoenix might say we don't need a PR cleanup, but I'm going to rip into them myself.*

*Even if I can't out-type thousands of trolls, I'll take down as many as I can. I refuse to sit here and swallow this garbage!*

...

...

The online crusade against Phoenix was rapidly snowballing out of control.

Initially, Cassandra and Lydia had been terrified, dreading the inevitable retaliation from Phoenix and Pierce. But after waiting in agonizing suspense and seeing no counterattack, their confidence skyrocketed.
