Outcast Queen: Her Return from Hell novel Chapter 313

Felix froze for a second before realization dawned on him. "Ms. Prescott, you already have a counterattack planned, don't you?"

Phoenix didn't deny it. She nodded smoothly. "I need you to stay in HR and run interference for Sloane and Yvette. Those two are special 'talents.' Whenever a highly critical task comes up, make sure it falls onto their desks."

Felix's eyes lit up. Brilliant. She was planting saboteurs right under management's nose.

As a seasoned corporate veteran, he had spotted it the moment Sloane and Yvette entered the Prescott Group—those two were absolute chaos wrapped in arrogance.

Not only were they utterly clueless about company operations, but they also loved pretending they were experts. They spent their days throwing their weight around, which had already bred massive resentment among the staff.

With those two ticking time bombs constantly interfering, the company's internal structure was guaranteed to implode sooner or later.

"Don't worry, Ms. Prescott. I guarantee it'll be handled," Felix promised, thumping his chest.

Phoenix shifted her gaze back to Yolanda, thinking for a moment before speaking. "Pack up your things. You're leaving with me."

"Right away. I'll go clear my desk."

The moment Yolanda returned to her cubicle, Lila grabbed her arm and pulled her aside.

"I heard the news. She's been kicked out, and the company has already drafted a public statement severing all ties." As a good friend, Lila felt compelled to warn her. "You need to talk to upper management immediately. Tell them you didn't know anything and were just following orders. You might be able to save your neck."

Yolanda turned around, meeting Lila's eyes with dead seriousness. "Thank you for telling me this. But my mind is made up. I'm walking out with her."

"Yolanda, are you out of your mind?" Lila gasped. "Did you forget your mom is severely ill? She's in the hospital relying on your paycheck to stay alive! If you lose this job over some misplaced loyalty, how are you going to pay her medical bills?"

"Lila, thank you. The fact that you're saying this means you truly view me as a friend." Yolanda offered a soft smile, her resolve unwavering. "But everything I have right now is because Ms. Prescott pulled me out of the trenches. If I chose to betray her at a time like this, I'd never be able to look at myself in the mirror again."

"My mother always told me a person is nothing without their integrity. I won't betray the trust Ms. Prescott placed in me."

Lila frowned deeply. She was incredibly worried but knew there was no breaking Yolanda's stubborn streak. "Alright. But if you hit a wall, you have to tell me. I don't make much, but I'll help however I can."

Yolanda's smile brightened, and she pulled Lila into a warm hug. "Thank you. You're the only real friend I've made here."
