Noelle drove straight to Maple Enterprise's offices. She then went upstairs to the president's office and saw that both Cedric and Alfred were already there.
She noticed the dark yet faint colors under Cedric's eyes. It was apparent that he had not been sleeping well for the past two days. But whenever she messaged him, he never mentioned anything about it.
Noelle spoke up. "What do you need me to do?"
Cedric walked up to her and replied, "The public opinion on you has started to reverse. It's the perfect time for action."
She nodded. "Alright."
Alfred stood up and said, "Okay, let's go."
Noelle looked at Cedric and asked, "Where are we going?"
"To the factory," Cedric replied.
She immediately understood what he meant and nodded her head before following them.
Once they got in the car, Cedric turned to her and said, "I heard that you warned Mia to pull out of the investment contract with PZ Group."
She replied, "That's right. Eugene told you, didn't he?"
Noelle understood how close Mia was to Eugene. Given how big the amount of money in the investment was, it was no surprise that Eugene would know about it.
Cedric explained, "I looked into it on my end as well. There are quite a few companies working with PZ Group, and a lot of wealthy folks have also signed similar high-return investment contracts with them.
"None of the contracts have shown any problems so far, and the returns were paid into everyone's accounts on time every single month."
Alfred turned around from the front passenger seat and said, "I deliberately went home and asked my mom about it as well. It turns out that PZ Group has already infiltrated most of the upper-class society. A lot of the wealthier folks have already signed similar investment contracts."
Noelle let out a sigh. "Don't you think this sounds more like a scam? We've seen plenty of similar scams. They appear legit on the surface, but in the end, they'll just run off with the money."
"It's mostly her savings, too. I don't even want to think about what would happen if she lost all of her money."
Noelle then turned to Cedric and asked, "Did Mrs. Greene invest in them as well?"
Cedric paused for a moment before answering. "I'm not sure. But if Mrs. Parham is in it, my mom has probably invested in them as well."
Noelle felt a headache creeping up. "I can't believe PZ Group managed to con so many people in such a short amount of time. Was there not a single one of them who was cautious enough to notice anything strange?"
Cedric replied, "Humans are greedy after all. Even if they were cautious, no one could have expected for PZ Group to be so bold."
Noelle frowned and said, "That's why I believe that Xenia's mother must also be involved in this scam together with PZ Group!"
If they could put a stop to PZ Groups' schemes, they would also be able to locate Xenia's mother.
