Noelle shook her head. "I'm actually not sure. The child was born prematurely, and I've never even looked at it once."
The baby was still kept in an incubator. She continued, "I only said those things on purpose. It was Justin's own fault for being so annoying. He needs to be taught a lesson."
Regardless of whether the baby really was Justin's, he had already been branded as a laughingstock among his friends.
Grace nodded. "That makes sense. The way he left the scene just now was nothing short of satisfying to watch."
Noelle was in a pretty good mood after being defended by her own classmates earlier.
During class, the lecturer looked at Noelle and said, "Noelle, you've won first place in the computer modeling contest you participated in. The university has even set up a cash reward for it. Don't forget to claim your prize."
Grace spoke up. "See that? Everyone can see just how capable you really are. And yet, there are still people spreading rumors online about you getting into Maple Enterprise through the backdoor."
"That's right! They have no idea just how great Noelle is. They're just jealous!"
The lecturer stared at Noelle and continued, "I've heard about the rumors about you online as well. In response, the university will hold a special interview for you about your award. Facts speak louder than words, after all. I'm sure it'll help shut those people up."
Noelle was touched. She felt that the world had suddenly become much kinder to her ever since the lawsuit concluded. Had it been her past life, nobody would have taken her side in a situation like that. No one would have believed her either.
Noelle went along with the interview with the university after class. News about the interview soon went viral online and helped set up Noelle's reputation as a top student.
As her number one fan, Grace continued fending off against Noelle's haters online. "Noelle was the top scorer in the college entrance exam, and she even wrote the firewall system for the Liddell Corporation.
A lot more others also agreed with their comments that Noelle's rise to a high career position was too abrupt. The discussion soon exploded into that of a debate between current university students and working professionals.
Noelle found the entire thing laughable after seeing how the discussion online had veered into a whole different course. Just then, she received a call from Cedric.
"Are you free? Come to the office if you can. We've figured out a plan."
"Alright, I'll come over this afternoon." Noelle had been waiting for him to reach out to her.
She stepped out of the campus and immediately noticed that all the paparazzi who had been lurking around for the past two days had disappeared, most likely due to the shifting public opinion around Noelle online.
The university had also become very protective of Noelle. Anyone suspicious who showed up on campus would be thoroughly questioned. The authorities had caught several paparazzi sneaking into the campus over the past two days.
