My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 444

"Ahhh... One can of premium royal formula isn't enough to heal my trauma! I demand ten cans!"

"I'm so glad you're safe, Ma'am," Susan said warmly.

"Seraphina."

A trembling voice called out. Seraphina looked up to see Eleanor Langford standing before her.

Surprisingly, Evie Langford was trailing right behind the matriarch.

Evie's eyes flickered with a flash of panic upon seeing Seraphina, but she quickly stiffened her spine and strutted forward.

"Mommy, that's weird. I just sensed Evie's heart rate spike massively." Little Bean stared in Evie's direction. "Why would she be so nervous to see you?"

Seraphina kept silent, merely casting a sharp, assessing glance at Evie.

Evie sharply looked away, refusing to meet her gaze. "Where's Lucian?"

"In surgery," Seraphina replied coolly.

"I am so relieved you're alright, my dear," Eleanor said with profound sincerity.

Seraphina's eyes grew red. She offered the older woman a gentle nod. "I'm okay now. You don't need to worry."

Hearing her bravery, Eleanor's unshed tears finally cascaded down her lined face.

"You sweet girl. This family has brought you nothing but suffering."

Seraphina blinked, staring at Eleanor in utter shock.

"Grandma Eleanor, why would you say that?"

The older woman pressed her lips together. "Shortly after you vanished, I received a ransom note. It stated you had been kidnapped and demanded a hundred million dollars."

"I believe my family's enemies targeted you."

"A hundred million?"

Seraphina gasped. "Grandma Eleanor, did you pay it?"

"No. I suspected it might be an opportunist who caught wind of your disappearance. I had the staff investigate who placed the letter in our mailbox, but we have no leads yet."
