Mission: Revenge – The Heiress's Second Life novel Chapter 39

With every word the teacher spat, the color drained further from Vera's face.

She didn't even dare to look in Jonathan's direction.

She scrambled to perform damage control. "Teacher, what exactly did Jules do?"

"He's barely a teenager, and he's already dating!" the homeroom teacher exploded. "And if that wasn't bad enough, he's actively bullying the poor girl! Her parents stormed the school this morning demanding answers! This is a massive liability, and a parent needs to be here to settle it! Get over here right now!"

The teacher slammed the phone down in fury.

Vera gripped her phone tightly, slowly turning to meet Jonathan's blazing, furious eyes.

"I've been so overwhelmed with the grand opening of my new salon lately that I've neglected the boys. This is entirely my fault," Vera whimpered, playing the fragile victim perfectly. "I'll head over to the school right now and sort this out."

Jonathan swallowed his rage, unable to explode.

After all, Jules wasn't her biological son. He couldn't exactly expect her to mother him perfectly.

He stood up sharply. "I'm coming with you."

Vera placed a restraining hand on his shoulder. "You have that massive overseas client coming in today. This deal is critical for the company, and you need to be there to close it. Don't worry, I'll handle Jules's situation perfectly. Don't you trust me?"

Clara lowered her eyes.

Over the past few years, her father had attempted to visit her annually. But without fail, the moment he arrived, Vera would call him away with some manufactured emergency.

Vera always had a brilliant, undeniable excuse to force Jonathan to neglect his five children.

Clara pressed her lips together and spoke up. "Dad, maybe it's time Jules moved back home."

She was grinding her teeth in silent fury.

The moment this little bitch returned, the peace of the household was shattered.

If she managed to drag Jules back, how long would it be before she brought Christian back, too?

If all five of those bastards returned, she and Serena would be completely marginalized in their own home!

Clara's expression was carved from ice.

In her past life, Vera's deliberate, malicious indulgence had allowed Jules to completely ruin his academic career, turning him into a useless washout who spent his life entangled with opportunistic women.

She was going to drag her brother back from the brink, whatever it took!
