Mission: Revenge – The Heiress's Second Life novel Chapter 40

In the end, Jonathan insisted on visiting the school himself.

For the first time, Clara and Serena rode to school in the same car. Neither of them spoke a single word, leaving the atmosphere inside the vehicle suffocatingly tense.

The car sped through the city, arriving at the gates of Springfield First Academy shortly after.

It was the peak of the morning rush. The entrance was packed with students and parents, bustling and chaotic.

Serena meticulously smoothed her hair before gracefully stepping out of the car. The moment she appeared, countless students stopped to stare.

"Look, it's Serena Lambert, the school beauty!"

"She's so gorgeous. I really want to ask for her number!"

"I'll let you in on a secret—Serena is completely bald! She doesn't have a single hair on her head. It's hideous!"

"I saw her without her wig, too. She looks worse than a random person on the street!"

"..."

Hearing the vicious whispers, Serena's picture-perfect smile froze completely.

A suffocating wave of humiliated rage washed over her, and she glared with pure, fiery hatred at Clara, who was standing beside her looking entirely unbothered.

If it wasn't for this bitch, she would never have been branded a bald freak!

If Clara dared to ruin her reputation, then Serena would absolutely return the favor tenfold!

"Sister, wait for me!"

Serena called out in a sickeningly sweet, fragile voice, hurrying to catch up with Clara.

She reached out and grabbed Clara tightly by the wrist.

Thoroughly disgusted, Clara immediately yanked her arm free.

In the next second, the surrounding crowd gasped as Serena miraculously collapsed onto the pavement and began coughing weakly.

"Serena, are you okay?!"

Lillian Young shoved her way through the crowd, rushing forward to help Serena to her feet.

She glared furiously at Clara. "Serena was just diagnosed with leukemia! You're supposed to be her older sister, and instead of protecting her, you assault her in broad daylight?! You need to apologize to Serena right now! Apologize!"

An uproar ripped through the crowd of students.

Serena immediately lost her balance and tumbled backward onto the ground.

"Your acting is pathetic," Clara noted, shaking her head. "One finger and you crumble to the ground? What are you, made of glass?"

The entire exchange felt like a slow-motion playback. Every student standing nearby saw exactly what had happened.

"I saw the whole thing! Clara barely even touched her. She used zero force!"

"I think Serena threw herself on the ground on purpose to frame Clara!"

"Wait, isn't Serena supposed to be the sweet, innocent goddess of the school? Why is she being so manipulative?"

"She's not just manipulative, she's a total pick-me girl. Half the guys at school are strung along by her in her little harem!"

"Wow... Do you think she's faking the leukemia too?"

The ruthless gossip flooded Serena's ears, making her chest heave with blinding fury.

Yes, the first fall was completely faked!

But the second time, that bitch had genuinely pushed her over!
