Mission: Revenge – The Heiress's Second Life novel Chapter 41

She opened her mouth to explain, but the words wouldn't come.

A suffocating wave of fury burned in her chest.

Clara Lambert, however, felt a profound sense of satisfaction.

In her past life, she had endured too many of these exact scenarios. Even when she was entirely innocent, the people around her never gave her a chance to explain herself!

Her reputation had been systematically destroyed by these repeated frame-ups!

Clara didn't spare Serena Lambert another glance, simply turning on her heel and striding onto the school grounds.

The surrounding crowd of students slowly dispersed.

Serena clenched her jaw so hard her teeth nearly cracked.

In all her life, she had never been subjected to such humiliation!

She swore she would pay her back ten—no, a hundred times over!

"Clara is such a bitch!" Lillian Young spat through gritted teeth. "She is your own blood, and she treats you like this! My cousin is completely useless, too. He didn't even manage to touch a hair on her brother's head! What are we supposed to do now?"

Serena clenched her fists tightly.

Usually, if anyone dared to bully her, she would just tell her mother, and her mother would make the problem disappear.

But when it came to Clara, her mother only told her to endure it.

She kept saying to just wait it out for three months, that it would all be over soon.

But Serena couldn't stand it for another three days, three hours, or even three minutes!

As soon as the words left his mouth, the entire class turned their eyes toward Serena.

Everyone knew Serena had passed her Level Ten piano certification, had won countless awards, and frequently performed in various piano recitals.

Having Serena represent the class was the most obvious choice.

"Serena just found out she has a terminal illness. It wouldn't be right to make her perform right now, would it?" Lillian chimed in quickly. "Our new transfer student, Clara, supposedly knows how to play the piano too. Why don't we give this opportunity to Clara!"

Serena spoke up in a soft, sweet voice, "Clara, you've been learning piano since you were three. Many teachers have said you have an incredible gift for it. Why don't you represent our class on stage?"

Clara held her fountain pen, finishing a complicated math equation on her test paper before she lazily lifted her head and delivered a flat response: "No."

She wished she could stretch every minute into two just to study. Why would she waste time participating in some high school performance?

[Ding! New Task Issued!]
