Chapter 201 Leaking Her Dirty Bloodline

“He is calling you a parasite on live television, Ricardo said. He held the remote control like a live grenade.

“A parasite needs a host to survive,” I answered. I leaned back in my leather chair and crossed my arms. “I own the host. Turn the volume up.”

Ricardo hit the button. The massive screen on the boardroom wall flared with sound.

Julian Whitmore stood on the marble steps of the federal courthouse. Flashbulbs erupted around him, a chaotic storm of white light. He wore a navy suit. He looked calm, composed, and devastatingly legitimate. He did not look like a man claiming an inheritance. He looked like a king reclaiming a stolen throne.

He held a white folder in his hands.

*For three years, the Johnston Group fed a lie to the global market, Julian spoke into the cluster of microphones. His voice possessed a smooth, practiced cadence. “The current Chairman, Minerva Hayes, claims her seat through the Serrano Trust. She claims to be the rightful daughter of Alexander Johnston.”

Julian paused. He opened the folder. He pulled out a single sheet of paper stamped with a red medical seal.

*This is a certified DNA analysis,” Julian stated. He held the paper up for the cameras. “Procured months ago by Harriet Montgomery before she was silenced.

It proves, without a margin of error, that Minerva Hayes possesses zero genetic connection to the Johnston bloodline.“

My chest turned to ice. The air in the boardroom thinned.

Beside me, Tristan went rigid. The heavy tumbler of water in his hand cracked under his grip. He set the glass down before it shattered.

‘She is not a Johnston, Julian continued on the screen. The cameras zoomed in on his face. He delivered the kill shot with flawless precision. “Minerva

Hayes is a Whitmore. She is the biological daughter of Thomas Whitmore. The very man who spent a decade trying to bankrupt this corporation. She did not save the company from a hostile takeover. She is the hostile takeover. She is a usurper, a fraud, and a planted operative who used a fabricated lineage to

steal an empire from the inside.”

“Turn it off,” Tristan ordered. The gravel in his voice scraped the walls.

Ricardo hit the button. The screen went black. The silence that followed was suffocating.

I stared at the dark glass. The secret I bled to protect was gone. The ugly, twisted truth of my bloodline was now public consumption. The world knew I

shared DNA with a monster.

My phone buzzed against the mahogany table. Then Tristan’s phone rang. Then Ricardo’s tablet lit up. The notifications hit us like a barrage of gunfire.

“The stock,” Ricardo breathed. He stared at his screen. The color vanished from his face. Mina, the bottom just fell out. We are down eight percent. Ten

percent. It is a free fall. Institutional investors are dumping their shares. They think the SEC is going to freeze the entire corporation.”

Julian weaponized the truth. He bypassed the boardroom and went straight to the public trust. The Johnston Group survived on stability. Julian offered them

chaos.

“He leaked Harriet’s file, Tristan said. He paced toward the window. He looked out over the city skyline. I paid a team a fortune to scrub that data from the

lab servers.

Julian has Thomas Whitmore’s ghost accounts,” I reminded him. My voice lacked emotion. The shock paralyzed my vocal cords. ‘He bought the original hard copies. He bought the technicians. He bought the narrative.”

The beavy double doors of the boardroom swung open.

Arthur Vance stormed into the room. He was a senior board member, a holdover from Alexander Johnston’s era. Two other executives trailed behind him Vance’s face was purple with rage.

“Is it true?” Vance demanded. He slammed his hands flat on the table, leaning over the wood. “Tell me right now, Are you Thomas Whitmore’s bastard?”

Tristan turned from the window. The protective violence rolled off his frame in a visible wave. He closed the distance in three massive strides. He grabbed Vance by the lapels of his expensive suit and hauled him off his feet

“Watch your mouth, Arthur, Tristan warned. The threat was absolute.

“Put him down,” I commanded.

Tristan froze. He glared at the older executive, his knuckles white against the fabric.

“Put him down, Tristan,” I repeated. I stood up from my chair. “We do not fight them with our hands. We fight them with our teeth.”

Tristan released the fabric. He shoved Vance back. Vance stumbled, his chest heaving, but the fear in his eyes mixed with a stubborn, bitter defiance.

“You lied to us,” Vance spat. He straightened his jacket. He looked at me with pure disgust. “You sat at the head of this table and played the victim. You

rallied us against the Whitmore family, and you carry their blood in your veins. You are a parasite.”

“I am the Chairman,” I stated. I walked around the table. I stopped inches from Vance. I refused to look away. “I took a fracturing company and turned it

into a global monolith. I secured the Asian logistics routes. I finalized the tech merger. My blood did not sign those deals, Arthur. My brain did.”

“Your brain orchestrated a fraud!” Vance shouted. “The Serrano Trust requires a legitimate Johnston heir. You bypassed the bylaws. If the SEC investigates,

we all go to prison for corporate deception. I am calling an emergency board meeting. We are voting you out before the market closes.

“Call the vote,’ I challenged him. The cold void swallowed my fear. “Call the meeting. See who stands with a dead lineage and who stands with the woman writing their dividend checks. I put millions into your offshore accounts this quarter. Do you want to hand that profit to a man who just tanked our stock by

ten percent?’
