Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 639

But Nora knew that for the sake of the Ivory Pill, this charade had to continue.

The room was so quiet one could hear a pin drop.

Hudson's lips were pressed into a tight line, his expression so dark it was practically stormy. "Arthur."

"Mr. Lancaster..."

Arthur, who had been standing guard at the door, quickly pushed his way in, immediately sensing the suffocating tension in the air.

"Escort my wife back to her room."

"...Yes, sir."

Arthur stepped toward Nora. Though bewildered as to why the usually inseparable couple was suddenly at each other's throats, he bowed respectfully. "Ma'am..."

Nora glared fiercely at Hudson. She stood up with a dark expression and limped out with Arthur's support.

Since it had only been a day, Nora's sprained ankle hadn't fully healed. The intense pain had faded, but it still throbbed when she put weight on it.

Hudson's jaw ticked. Unable to watch her struggle, he stood up, intending to carry her back to her room.

But before he could even get close, Nora shoved him away. "I don't need you to carry me! I can walk by myself!"

Caught off guard, Hudson stumbled backward. His back hit the wine cabinet behind him, sending several bottles crashing to the floor. The rich scent of spilled wine instantly filled the air.

The sudden crash left everyone in the room utterly stunned.

Arthur stared at Nora in absolute shock, unable to believe his own eyes.

What... what was going on?

But just then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a shadow disappearing around the corner of the hallway...

He frowned slightly, but before he could process it, Nora's choked-up voice broke the silence. "Arthur, let's go."

Not daring to delay, Arthur quickly supported her and led her down the hall.

Once they were gone, Sebastian immediately stood up and hurried over to Hudson. "Hudson, are you okay?"

Hudson tightened his jaw and shook his head. "I'm fine."

Sebastian didn't dare press the issue. After all, this was a private marital dispute.

Besides, as the saying went, lovers' quarrels were always resolved in the bedroom. Given how much Hudson doted on Nora, a sincere apology tonight would surely have them back to being nauseatingly affectionate by tomorrow morning.

It was best not to interfere.

With that in mind, he immediately flagged down a waiter to clean up the shattered glass before someone got hurt.

"Hudson, what's going on? How did you manage to piss Nora off?"

Grant leaned in, his face practically glowing with nosy anticipation.

Hudson shot him a chilling glare. "You really want to know?"

Grant nodded eagerly.

Seeing the look in Hudson's eyes, Sebastian silently took a half-step back, shooting Grant a look that clearly said, 'God have mercy on your soul.'
