Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 631

Finnian Fairchild had originally just come to watch the drama unfold.

Scarlett Sawyer firing a gun and spooking Nora Reed's horse was a situation that could easily spiral out of control.

But in the eyes of a fiercely protective husband like Hudson Lancaster, it was nothing short of a death sentence.

The Lancasters and the Sawyers were in the middle of a major business partnership, and Finnian was terrified Hudson might actually kill Scarlett in a fit of rage, so he had stepped in to mediate.

Finnian didn't have a particularly close relationship with the Sawyer siblings, but since Liana and Scarlett were practically best friends, he was only intervening for his adopted sister's sake.

"Liana Fairchild?" Spencer Sawyer looked at Finnian, his face a mask of shock and suspicion.

Finnian was in the middle of taking a sip of his tea. Hearing the familiar name, he paused, his eyes instinctively flicking upward.

Both Hudson and Spencer were staring dead at him.

Finnian remained perfectly silent.

"What is it?" he asked, setting down his cup. He walked over to Hudson and glanced at the glowing phone screen. Seeing the call log, his brow furrowed.

"A single phone call doesn't prove anything, does it? Besides, Liana is out of the country..."

Scarlett dropped her gaze in a panic, holding her breath like a cornered animal.

Hudson let out a dark, mocking laugh. "You actually think your adopted sister is abroad?"

Finnian stiffened. "What are you trying to say, Hudson?"

He had personally escorted Liana to the airport and watched her board the plane.

How could that possibly be faked?

Hudson shot him an icy, dismissive look and immediately dialed the number, putting it on speaker.

The line rang twice before someone picked up. Liana's cheerful voice filled the room. "Scarlett? How did it go? Is that bitch Nora already—"

"Liana?!" Finnian hissed, the name practically tearing through his teeth.

The line went dead silent for a fraction of a second before abruptly cutting off.

Finnian gripped the phone, his expression darkening into a stormy scowl.

"That stubborn brat. Even out of the country, she can't just lay low!"

"International dial tones don't sound like that," Hudson sneered.

Ignoring Finnian's increasingly furious expression, Hudson turned and handed the phone to Archer. "Track this number's exact location."

Archer took the device, hooked it up to his own, and typed rapidly. Within minutes, he had a lock on the signal.

"Boss, the satellite GPS puts her at a hotel just down the mountain."

Hudson nodded. "Bring her here."

"Right away." Archer spun on his heel and strode out.

A heavy silence settled over the room.
