Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 628

After eating their fill, everyone headed downstairs together to join in on the excitement.

Sebastian was incredibly thorough as a host; he had even prepared a stable full of hunting horses.

Nora had learned the basics of horseback riding from Hudson once before, but she wasn't completely confident yet. Hudson picked out a gentle mare for her, holding the reins and leading her around for a few laps. Only when he saw her relax into the saddle did he finally let her ride on her own.

Clack! Clack! Clack!

The heavy thud of hooves thundered behind them.

Nora instinctively looked back and saw two magnificent horses galloping toward them at breakneck speed.

Jude and Finnian were in the saddle. Both men were dressed in full riding gear, looking commanding and heroic, which left Nora slightly dazed for a moment.

Especially Jude.

She had seen him in riding gear once before, but this all-black ensemble gave him an intense, predatory edge that stripped away his usual gentle demeanor, making him look like an entirely different person.

"Damn, Jude! Take it easy today, alright? Leave a few deer for the rest of us..." Sebastian laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

Jude let out a soft chuckle, effortlessly slipping back into his refined persona. "You're exaggerating, Sebastian..."

Sebastian didn't push it.

In truth, everyone present knew that when it came to riding and marksmanship, no one could touch Jude Winslow.

He usually looked like a polished intellectual, but put him on a hunt, and he moved with the lethal precision of a military commander.

"Let's get started!"

"Yah!"

"Yah!"

With a chorus of sharp shouts, seven or eight horses surged forward.

The crisp winter wind whipped through their hair. The riders, tall and imposing in the saddle, charged into the sunlit woods like a scene straight out of a painting.

"Damn it, Jude, leave something for us! With that aim, are you prepping for a war?!"

"A hit already?"

"Incredible!"

Soon, the sound of their laughter and shouts faded into the distance. Nora remained behind, too nervous to jump into the chaotic fray.

She genuinely loved hunting, but her riding skills simply weren't sharp enough.

With so many horses galloping wildly, she was worried her mare might spook and she wouldn't be able to control it.

"Why aren't you going?"

Hudson had stayed behind with her.

He hadn't bothered to change into formal riding gear, opting instead for his black fleece-lined tactical jacket. He sat lazily in the saddle, yet every movement he made still radiated absolute dominance.

"I'm hunting with my wife."

Nora gave him a helpless smile. "You should go hunt! I'll just wait around here and try to shoot a rabbit or something..."

When Hudson continued to casually twirl his hunting rifle, showing no intention of leaving, Nora added, "I want to eat the deer you catch..."

"We'll go together."
