By the time they returned to the hotel, the sky had already turned dark.
Nora took off her coat at the door and walked barefoot across the carpet. The Northampton Grand had heated floors, making it incredibly cozy.
Hudson walked in behind her, hanging his coat on the rack in the foyer. When he turned around, he saw Nora kneeling by her suitcase, digging through her clothes. Her shirt had ridden up, exposing a strip of her flawless skin.
He walked over, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind. His fingers slipped under the hem of her shirt, caressing her smooth skin. "What are you looking for, honey?" his husky voice murmured.
"My heat packs. I want to use one tomorrow when we go out. It's freezing in Northampton."
Hudson chuckled softly. "Aren't you going shopping with Sienna tomorrow? The malls have heating. You won't freeze."
Nora paused and looked over her shoulder. "Right. Aren't you going to see Elias Whitman tomorrow? Should I come with you?"
"No need." Hudson let her go and turned to pour a glass of water. "Archer and I will handle it. It's just a business deal; you'd be bored out of your mind. Go shopping with Sienna and treat yourself to something nice."
Hearing the word 'shopping' brought back memories of the terrifying incident a few days ago.
"Um... maybe we just won't go shopping..."
Sensing her lingering fear, Hudson smiled and patted her head. "Don't worry. This is Northampton, not San Francisco. No matter how bold those people are, they wouldn't dare pull a stunt here."
Seeing she still wanted to argue, Hudson simply scooped her up into his arms. Startled, she quickly wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Archer mentioned the couples' bathtub here is fantastic. Shall we test it out?"
"Hudson, you... Mmh..."
Moments later, the sound of running water echoed from the bathroom.
A couples' tub indeed offered endless possibilities.
By the end of it, more water was on the floor than in the tub.
Just when Nora felt like she couldn't take another second of pleasure, Hudson finally carried her out, fully satisfied.
But the night was far from over.
Nora, who had been begging him to stop earlier, now had her fingers tangled in his hair—whether trying to push him away or pulling him closer, she wasn't sure.
The moonlight spilled over the large bed.
It was an incredibly intimate position.
Nora couldn't understand why Hudson loved 'serving' her so much...
After a night of unbridled passion.
The two woke up early the next morning.
Hudson wore a dark gray cashmere coat that perfectly accentuated his broad shoulders.
Archer was already waiting outside. Arthur and Olive were assigned to stay at the hotel to guard Nora.
"I'm heading out," Hudson said from the entryway, flashing her a handsome smile.
Nora leaned halfway out of the dining room, a piece of toast dangling from her mouth. "Be safe," she mumbled around her breakfast.
The door clicked shut, and his footsteps faded away.
Right then, Nora's phone buzzed. It was a voice message from Sienna.
[Norie! I'm downstairs! Hurry up, come down!]
Nora smiled, texted back a quick [On my way], shoved the rest of the toast into her mouth, grabbed her coat, and ran out.
