Hudson set his phone down, picked up his coffee, and took a sip. His voice was casually indifferent. “So what if he’s in prison? I have a thousand ways to make him wish he were dead. As long as he’s breathing, there’s plenty of time to slowly break him.”
Arthur instantly understood. “Understood, Boss.”
Just as Arthur turned to leave, the loud roar of engines echoed from outside. A second later, the front doors burst open.
“Hudson! Save me!”
Sebastian Caldwell sprinted into the house, closely followed by Grant Hamilton.
Both men looked utterly disheveled. The collar of Sebastian’s shirt had been ripped open, missing a button, and his hair looked like he had just survived a hurricane.
Hudson placed his cup down and lazily eyed the two of them. “Did you go get into a street fight?”
Grant collapsed into a chair, grabbed Hudson’s half-finished coffee, chugged the rest of it, and slammed the mug onto the table.
“Hell no! This was worse than a fight! Sebastian almost got assaulted!”
Nora’s ears instantly perked up.
In all of San Francisco, the Caldwell and Hamilton families might not match the Lancasters' supreme dominance, but they were still elite dynasties no one dared cross.
These two clearly looked like they had been thoroughly manhandled.
Which powerful heiress was capable of this?
Or was it... a guy?
While Nora’s imagination ran wild formulating a tragic, forced-love drama, Sebastian pulled up a chair next to Hudson. He tried to fix his torn collar and took several deep breaths to steady himself. “Hudson, Phoebe Vaughn is here. She completely surrounded the Argent Club.”
Hudson’s brow twitched imperceptibly. “Phoebe?”
“Who else would it be? Good lord, she brought over a hundred men, parked them right at the front door, and demanded to see you. Said she wasn't leaving until you showed up.”
Sebastian came from a long line of scholars. Despite being a businessman, he usually carried an air of refined elegance. But right now, he was so furious he was cursing openly. “Damn it, Hudson, you have no idea. She called me a gigolo and said she wanted to buy my services!”
Nora couldn't hold it back. A sudden burst of laughter escaped her lips.
Sebastian stared at her.
“I’m so sorry, I didn't mean to...”
She simply couldn't hold it in!
Nora quickly apologized, stifling her giggles.
“Nora, that is so cruel. I just got completely humiliated by a maniac, and you're laughing at me?” Sebastian clutched his chest, looking heartbroken.
