Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 549

Liam’s back stiffened under the intense gaze, but he forced himself to continue. “I’m just worried about Nora. She loves you so much now. If she finds out the truth about you, I’m afraid she won’t be able to handle it.”

Hudson’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He cut him off. “We’ll talk about this later.”

Without waiting for another word, Hudson ducked into the car and slammed the door shut.

The black Maybach merged into the twilight along the tree-lined streets of Azure Bay, quickly disappearing into the distance.

Liam stood there, watching the car vanish, and let out a long sigh. Having worked alongside Mr. Lancaster for years, he knew the man was normally decisive and ruthless. Yet, here he was, actively running away from his problems.

Taking a deep breath, Liam pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

“Ms. Vaughn, it’s me.”

...

By the time Hudson arrived at Star Entertainment, the sky had already darkened. Autumn was deepening, and the nights came early.

Nora had stayed for some last-minute overtime. The moment she slipped into the passenger seat, she apologized, “I’m so sorry. Did you wait long?”

Hudson chuckled softly. “It’s only natural for a husband to wait for his wife.”

Smiling, Nora cupped his face and pressed a kiss to his lips. Before she could pull back, his arm wrapped around her narrow waist, deepening the kiss into something far more demanding.

“What are you doing? You ruined my makeup,” Nora shot him a playful glare, quickly pulling out her compact mirror to fix her lipstick.

“Honey, you started it.”

“I just gave you a peck.”

“And it nearly drove me crazy. Feel this if you don’t believe me.”

Taking her hand, he pressed it against his arousal.

Nora gasped. Her eyes widened in shock, and she snatched her hand back as if she had been burned. “When did that... happen?”

“The second your lips touched mine.”

“...”

Speechless, and acutely aware of Hudson's terrifying stamina, Nora didn't dare tease him any further. She quickly changed the subject. “What are we having for dinner?”

Hudson’s lips curved into a smirk, deciding to let her off the hook. “That Coastal Savory Grill Sebastian recommended.”

Nora nodded eagerly.

Sebastian Caldwell was an absolute foodie, and his recommendations never missed. Every dish was authentic and incredibly rich.

By the time they finished, Nora rubbed her slightly rounded stomach, feeling like she had gained five pounds. Going straight back to Cloudwater Estate was out of the question; she was too full.
