So what if she was a ward?
She hadn't provoked anyone!
Besides, the real Fairchild heiress had died a long time ago. The grass on her grave was probably six feet high by now!
Did the old man think whining about it would bring her back to life?
Furthermore, she was currently enjoying the exact privileges that belonged to the true daughter of the Fairchild family.
Therefore, she was the rightful Fairchild heiress!
Those people constantly bringing up a dead person were just dragging down the mood!
Just as Liana was angrily venting in her head, she glanced up and saw Sienna entering through the mirror.
She casually twisted the cap back onto her lipstick, turned around, and leaned her hands against the edge of the sink, eyeing Sienna with an air of superiority.
"Are you my shadow or something? Following me everywhere I go?"
No sooner had the words left her mouth than the restroom door swung open again.
Nora walked in, her gaze sweeping between the two of them. Without saying a word, she stepped up beside Sienna, slipped her hands into her jacket pockets, and maintained a stoic expression.
Liana scoffed, tossed her makeup pouch into her handbag, and hoisted the strap over her shoulder, making her way to the door.
"Liana, that award-winning painting of yours was plagiarized, wasn't it?" Sienna stared at her with burning intensity. "No, it probably doesn't even count as plagiarism. You flat-out stole someone else's work!"
The smirk on Liana's face froze, then widened, as if she'd just heard a hilarious joke.
"Sienna, are you out of your mind? That painting is my own work. Plagiarized? Stolen? What kind of nonsense are you spewing?"
"Jared Quinn."
Sienna pronounced the name carefully, emphasizing every syllable. "Do you remember that name?"
Liana's pupils dilated imperceptibly.
The restroom went dead silent for a moment. It was so quiet they could hear each other breathing.
The next second, Liana suddenly laughed. "I'm amazed you went out of your way to dig up some irrelevant nobody. What? Was the guy who died in that car crash your lover?"
Sienna's breath hitched violently.
Liana's smile deepened. She took a half-step forward, locking eyes with Sienna's pale face. "You actually bothered investigating something so trivial? If I were you, I would've swallowed that pathetic little secret whole. What good does digging it up do?"
"You..."
Sienna raised her hand to strike.
But just as she reached the exit, a hand clamped brutally onto her hair from behind. Pain exploded across her scalp, and she let out a piercing shriek.
"Sienna, you bitch! Ah—my hair! Let go—"
Outside the door, Olive heard the commotion and darted inside like a rocket. When she saw that the person pinned to the floor and getting slapped senseless was Liana, she froze for a few seconds. She then looked up and nervously warned Nora, "Madam, don't get involved in the fight. Mr. Lancaster strictly forbids it."
Nora was utterly speechless.
With that, Olive darted right back out, thoughtfully pulling the door shut behind her and taking up a guard position in the hallway.
The chaos in the women's restroom eventually alerted the hotel staff. Soon after, Finnian and the others arrived at the scene.
When Finnian saw Sienna pinning Liana down, mercilessly raining slaps across her face, his expression turned terrifyingly dark. He immediately lunged forward, grabbed Sienna by the waist, and forcefully hoisted her off his sister.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
Sienna thrashed violently, desperate to break free from Finnian's iron grip, but the difference in physical strength was too immense. She couldn't shake him off.
Smack!
The sharp, deafening sound of a slap landed squarely on Finnian's cheek.
In an instant, absolute, suffocating silence descended over the restroom.
