Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 505

Nora looked at him, highly skeptical.

To make sure he couldn't text Liam to coordinate a cover story, she pulled out her phone and dialed the number immediately.

It rang twice before Liam answered. The background noise was loud, suggesting he was in transit. "Ms. Reed?"

"What is going on with Hudson's hearing? Why is he deaf?"

"It's a complication from his previous condition. But don't worry, my mentor tracked down an incredible specialist—Dr. Silas Vane. He handles impossible cases, and he might have a solution for Mr. Lancaster. I'm bringing him to meet you tomorrow."

Nora instinctively looked up at Hudson.

His story matched perfectly.

Still, part of her worried they had prearranged this lie just to keep her calm.

But on second thought, that didn't make sense.

Liam explicitly stated he was bringing Dr. Vane to Chicago tomorrow.

They wouldn't set up a lie that would spectacularly implode in less than twenty-four hours.

The massive weight compressing her lungs finally began to ease. "Liam, can Hudson really be cured?"

"I can't make any absolute guarantees..." Liam's tone turned professional and cautious. "Just like when I treated your hearing, I never promised a one-hundred-percent success rate right out the gate..."

He paused. "But rest assured, Dr. Vane's expertise is unparalleled. We'll need to examine Mr. Lancaster before we make a definitive call. Wait for us in Chicago. We'll be there by noon tomorrow."

"Okay. Thank you so much, Liam."

Seeing Nora end the call, Hudson smiled softly. "See? I told you I wasn't lying."

Nora pressed her lips together as a sudden realization hit her. "Wait. If you can't hear... how did you know exactly what I was saying?"

"Lip reading."

That explained it...

Every time he answered her, his eyes had been locked onto her mouth.

"You know how to do that? When did you even learn?"

Thick steam quickly filled the massive bathroom, obscuring the tangled reflection of two bodies pressed fiercely together.

Nora thought she was going to lose her mind.

Normally, Hudson would listen to her breathless pleas and ease his pace, but tonight, enveloped in total silence, he was relentless. It was fine when they were face to face, but when he spun her around...

He practically claimed half her soul.

It was as if a dormant fire had been ignited, consuming her entirely...

Thank God they were in the bathroom.

The mess could easily be washed away.

"You're incredible, honey... That was a first... We're definitely doing it like that again."

Nora was too exhausted to even pry her eyes open, completely unable to utter a response.

With a gaze full of profound adoration, Hudson gently washed her down, dried her off, and carried her to bed.
