Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 449

Nora barely got a single word out before his lips captured hers.

Hudson kissed her with a fierce, desperate urgency, as if trying to pour every ounce of his longing from the past few days into this one moment.

Breathless, she pressed her hands against his chest, but quickly melted against him.

The privacy partition turned the backseat into an intimate little world. Listening to the sound of their mingled breaths, her cheeks burned hot.

Hudson kissed her breathless before finally pulling back, resting his forehead against hers. His breathing was heavy and ragged.

"You fell asleep right after your shower yesterday? Hmm?" His voice was gravelly, laced with tight restraint.

Her mind was spinning from the kiss, her body pliant and completely surrendered to his touch.

He brushed his thumb gently across the corner of her mouth, wiping away a trace of moisture. When he spoke again, his voice was dangerously low.

"Where were you hiding last night, hmm?"

Still panting slightly, she struggled to find her words.

He chuckled softly, their foreheads still resting together. "Why didn't you come find me? I was going out of my mind missing you."

His warm breath swept across her face, sending a delicious shiver down her spine. The tips of her ears flushed as she finally regained her senses.

"How did you know?"

Tipping her chin up, he stole another hungry kiss, his tone a low rumble. "That was Archer driving me just now, wasn't it?"

Her heart skipped a beat.

"At first, I just thought Arthur was acting off today. I couldn't put my finger on it, but something felt wrong."

His thumb gently stroked her jaw. "I didn't immediately guess they pulled a bait-and-switch. But seeing Arthur and Olive standing right next to you just now? I'd have to be a complete idiot not to put the pieces together."

Nora bit her lip, offering a quiet defense. "I just wanted to surprise you..."

"Right. And then?"

"And then I waited for you at the hotel until I fell asleep..."

The second the door clicked shut behind them, he pinned her against the entryway wall and brought his mouth down hard on hers.

The blue dress slipped from her shoulders, pooling silently at her feet.

Then came his dress shirt, the tie, the belt, the slacks.

A trail of discarded clothing stretched from the entryway all the way into the bedroom.

With the blackout curtains drawn, the room plunged into shadows. Only a single bedside lamp cast a dim, amber glow, bathing the space in a warm, intimate light.

On the king-sized bed, two silhouettes moved as one, lost in the rhythm of their passion.

The soft sounds of their tangled desire filled the room, stretching endlessly through the afternoon.

...

Meanwhile, in the room directly across the hall, the atmosphere was dreadfully tense.
