Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 330

Lawrence crouched down, mockingly patting the back of Arthur's head. "Take him away. Bar him from the ballroom. It's the Grand Matriarch's Gala tonight, and I won't have him ruining the mood."

The four bodyguards hauled Arthur up from the ground.

Right at that moment, a lethally calm voice cut through the tension.

"What is going on?"

Hudson stood at the entrance of the ballroom, backlit by the grand chandeliers. His expression was shadowed, but the suffocatingly dark aura radiating from him commanded absolute terror.

Standing just a half-step behind him, Nora peered past the muscle-bound guards, her brow furrowing in concern as she saw Arthur restrained.

Lawrence turned around, pasting on a look of helpless resignation. "Hudson, look at your man. All I did was exchange a few pleasantries, and he launched a totally unprovoked attack."

He angled his head, clearly displaying the faint red graze on his cheekbone. "Look at this. He practically broke my jaw."

Hudson didn't spare him a second glance.

His piercing gaze remained locked squarely on Arthur.

Held immobile by four enforcers, Arthur's arms were wrenched behind him, his collar torn askew to expose the angry red skin near his collarbone.

He looked up, meeting Hudson's eyes. "Boss... I'm sorry."

Reason finally overrode his blind rage, and he realized he had walked right into Lawrence's trap.

This was the matriarch's birthday gala, and he had completely lost his head. Now that he was being forcibly ejected from the premises, there was nothing stopping this old bastard from orchestrating whatever sick plot he had planned!

Hudson's jaw tightened. He knew Arthur's temperament better than anyone.

The only way he would ever throw a punch in public was if Lawrence had intentionally baited him into an emotional trap.

The guards quickly dragged Arthur out of sight.

Hudson watched with an impassive expression, but the temperature in his dark eyes plunged to absolute zero.

"Uncle Lawrence."

"Is everything in place?"

Silas nodded eagerly. "It's all ready. Don't worry, it's totally foolproof this time."

Lawrence sneered at him. "That's exactly what you told me last time."

Silas stiffened, completely unable to muster a defense.

Seeing her husband struggle, Ginger quickly stepped in to smooth things over. "Uncle Lawrence, Silas has thoroughly prepared for every contingency. Nothing will go wrong."

Lawrence scoffed but accepted her reassurance with a dismissive wave.

Ginger secretly let out a breath of relief. She turned her head, fixing her gaze on Nora in the distance.

The younger woman was standing flawlessly by Hudson's side, engaged in polite conversation with another guest.

Ginger's eyes drifted down to Nora's flat stomach. A slow, venomous smirk crawled across her lips...
