Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 317

"My flight lands tomorrow at two in the afternoon..."

On the video call, Nora had just stepped out of the shower. Her luminous skin was flushed from the heat, and her stunning eyes blinked rapidly. As if suddenly recalling something, her delicate brows furrowed. "Really? You're not just stringing me along again, are you?"

Hudson swallowed hard. "I wasn't stringing you along last time, either. I just wanted to surprise you..."

She let out a soft huff.

Hudson stared at the woman on the screen, feeling like he was losing his mind.

He was completely lovesick.

Never in his life had he been so desperate to see someone.

The yearning had been festering in his mind for days. It had taken root the moment he left San Francisco, growing into an all-consuming obsession.

"Darling, I miss you so much..."

Nora's cheeks burned.

"Alright, I need to get to sleep. I have an early start tomorrow..."

"You heartless little thing. Don't you miss me at all?" Hudson chuckled, though it strained with longing.

"I do..." Nora blurted out instinctively. Seeing the sudden spark in his gaze, she realized what she had confessed and quickly bit her lip.

"You miss me too, don't you?" Hudson's voice dropped to a gravelly, impossibly rough whisper.

Blushing deeply, she stayed quiet, her fingers unconsciously twisting the edge of her blanket.

The truth was, she missed him too.

She missed him so much her chest ached with it, a heavy, suffocating wave of longing wrapping around her heart until she could barely breathe.

She wondered if she had ever missed anyone this much in her entire twenty years of life.

It was a yearning that sank deep into her bones.

She wanted to hold his hand, to embrace him, to kiss him, to...

Waking up early the next morning, Nora spent nearly an hour rummaging through her walk-in closet.

She tore through her wardrobe, piling her bed high with discarded dresses before finally settling on a cream-colored sundress that perfectly accentuated her stunning curves.

She pulled her hair up into a messy bun, highlighting her radiant complexion and delicate features.

The flight was scheduled to land at two.

Once dressed, she found it impossible to sit still, her eyes darting between her watch and her phone.

"Madam, we have plenty of time," Olive said, lounging on the couch and biting into an apple. She couldn't help but laugh at her employer's restless pacing. "Mr. Lancaster doesn't land until two, and it's not even noon yet."

"I know." Nora pressed her lips together and started pacing the room again.

After a few laps, she stopped. "Let's just go to the airport and wait."

Olive paused mid-bite. "Now? Isn't that way too early?"

Nora was already heading for the door. "It's not early. What if his flight gets in ahead of schedule?"
