Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 315

Cloudwater Estate.

Nora started missing Hudson the second he was gone.

She patted her own cheeks—pull yourself together!

She took a deep breath, pushing down that pathetic, clingy feeling, but she still felt entirely out of sorts.

She simply avoided the master bedroom. Every corner of it was filled with their lingering scent. A full day and night of wild, unrestrained passion made her face flush just standing in the room.

"Olive, are you busy later? Can you go out with me?"

"Not at all, I'll go get the car." Olive readily grabbed the keys and headed for the door.

Ever since the incident at the mall, Nora no longer felt that being chauffeured around was a hassle.

Whether she wanted to admit it or not, she knew she had become Hudson's weak point.

She might not be able to help him much.

But the least she could do was not drag him down.

"Where to, Madam?"

"St. Paul's Preparatory."

Olive glanced at her through the rearview mirror. "Going to see your brother?"

Nora nodded. Ever since Xavier Reed was beaten up at school last time, a heavy weight had been hanging over her heart.

That kid always reported the good news and hid the bad. She needed to see him with her own eyes to feel at ease.

...

St. Paul's Preparatory was nestled halfway up a mountain, the entire campus built into the slope, featuring red bricks, white walls, and lush green trees.

As soon as the black Maybach pulled up to the entrance, the security guard immediately raised the barrier to let them through.

Nora recalled casually mentioning to Hudson before that she wanted to visit Xavier.

Hudson had been looking at his phone at the time and muttered without looking up, "Just go."

Principal Sutton agreed repeatedly, personally pointed out the way, and rattled off a bunch of pleasantries like "If Mrs. Lancaster needs anything, just give the word," before finally backing away with his entourage of school officials.

Even after walking a dozen steps, Nora could still feel their stares lingering on her back.

Olive followed behind with her hands in her pockets, chewing gum. She blew a large bubble that popped with a loud smack, and mumbled vaguely, "These guys are supposed to be educators..."

Nora didn't reply.

She was long used to it.

From the day she moved into the Reed Residence carrying the label of "the tag-along," she knew the world was superficial.

The only difference was that she used to be the one trampled on, and now she was the one being put on a pedestal.

The feeling wasn't exactly comfortable, but she didn't feel qualified to preach about it either.

Xavier's classroom was on the first floor. Nora arrived right during the extended recess break, and the hallways were bustling and noisy.

Just as she was about to ask for directions, she heard a wave of cheering from the sports field not far away.
