Nora walked over, wrapping her arms securely around his waist from behind and resting her cheek against his broad back.
Hudson's movements stalled for a fraction of a second before he smoothly continued, simmering the sauce and adding the final touches.
"Almost ready."
Nora remained silent, keeping her face buried in his back and tightening her embrace.
Hudson let her hold him while he finished cooking.
He perfected the rich, savory sauce, adjusting the seasoning with a dash of salt and sugar, before finally ladling it generously over the freshly strained pasta.
Two steaming plates of Spaghetti Bolognese were soon set on the dining table.
Nora sat across from him, diving eagerly into her food.
The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauce a flawless balance of savory and sweet. It was so delicious she practically wanted to inhale the plate.
"Is it good?" Hudson asked.
Nora nodded, her cheeks bulging like a chipmunk as she mumbled around the food, "So good."
Hudson watched her ravenous eating with a fond smile, scooping the best pieces of meat from his own plate and dropping them onto hers.
"Then eat up."
Staring at the massive mountain of food piling up on her plate, Nora looked up. "You eat too. You already fed me plenty earlier..."
"..."
Nora shot him a withering glare, her face flushed red as she dropped her gaze back to her food.
After dinner, Hudson took care of the dishes.
Nora leaned back against the sofa cushions, patting her wonderfully full stomach with a sigh of absolute contentment.
When Hudson emerged from the kitchen, he found her curled up on the couch, struggling to keep her eyes open.
He reached out and scooped her effortlessly into his arms.
"Sleepy?"
"Mhm." Nora buried her face in his neck, her voice thick with exhaustion as she whined softly. "Carry me up."
Hudson chuckled, easily carrying her bridal style.

Meanwhile, at Silas Lancaster's private estate, the atmosphere was suffocatingly tense.
The living room was brightly lit, offering no shadows to hide the grim expressions of the men inside.
Silas stared at the bruised and battered faces of Harvey and Hugo, his own expression darkening like an impending storm.
"You're telling me... you failed?"
Harvey lazily lifted an eyelid to look at him, entirely unwilling to even dignify the question with an answer.
Hugo, however, remained completely stoic. "I specifically instructed your men to monitor Arthur's movements at all times. Did you follow my orders?"
Silas completely ignored the question. "Weren't you two personally trained by Uncle Lawrence? How the hell could you fail to handle two people?"
Harvey frowned, opening his mouth to fire back, when the heavy oak doors swung open.
A tall, elegant figure casually strolled into the room.
He wore an immaculately tailored dark gray suit that highlighted his commanding presence and sophisticated, yet lethal, aura.
