Madly Yours (Nora Reed) novel Chapter 297

Silas froze for a second, his mind racing to connect the dots. "You mean... Nora Reed?"

Lawrence shot him a flat, calculating look. "At least you're not completely stupid."

Silas's expression soured. As a dark memory clawed its way to the surface, he gritted his teeth. "The only reason Hudson crippled me was because of Nora Reed..."

"So tell me. If you had her completely at your mercy, what would Hudson do?"

Silas pressed his lips into a tight line. The venomous hatred on his face deepened, his breathing growing increasingly heavy. "He'd become my lapdog. Whatever I commanded him to do, he'd have no choice but to obey."

But his sinister excitement quickly faded, replaced by a deep scowl. "But Hudson has an army surrounding her. Just dealing with Arthur and Olive is a nightmare. Especially Arthur. You trained him yourself, Uncle Lawrence. He's an absolute beast in a fight. He's been Hudson's top enforcer for years. Even seven or eight heavily armed professionals couldn't take him down."

Lawrence let out a soft chuckle, making his warm, grandfatherly facade look even more convincing. "Which is exactly why I brought you a gift."

He raised his hand and snapped his fingers toward the door.

The heavy door groaned open, and two tall, imposing figures walked in perfect synchronization.

They were identically matched in stature—both towering over six feet, with broad shoulders and narrow waists. Their faces were virtually mirror images of each other.

"Hugo and Harvey Holloway. My adopted sons. They've been by my side for nearly ten years. With their help, you'll have everything you need to finish the job..."

Silas swept a sharp, appraising glance over the twins, a brief flicker of profound wariness flashing in his eyes.

He didn't know the full history of these two—whether they were genuinely adopted or groomed as weapons of destruction...

But he knew perfectly well that his uncle only surrounded himself with lethal talent.

Look at the evidence.

Harvey, however, simply rolled his eyes. "We wouldn't complain if you didn't constantly lecture us about how brilliant those two brothers are..."

Lawrence chuckled softly. "I raised Arthur and Archer. I know exactly what they're capable of. Yes, they deflected to my dear nephew's side, but I molded them. There will always be a lingering sentiment there..."

Noticing the stubborn, rebellious glint in Harvey's eyes, Lawrence reached up and adjusted the collar of the young man's jacket. "If you can't stand me praising them, then prove me wrong on this assignment. I taught you better than this. Results speak louder than empty bragging."

"Yeah, yeah," Harvey replied lazily.

Lawrence laughed, affectionately ruffling the young man's hair. "Alright, run along now. I need a private word with Silas."

"Yes, Godfather."

Once the twins had stepped out into the hallway, Lawrence lazily lifted his gaze back to Silas. "I've lent you the muscle. How you deploy them is entirely up to you. But I'll make one thing perfectly clear—if you botch this again, I will be profoundly disappointed. Do you understand?"
