The private jet broke through the clouds, touching down smoothly on the runway. Outside the window, the city skyline gleamed in the morning light, the bay shimmering with gold.

It was past eight in the morning by the time Hudson and Nora walked out of the VIP terminal hand in hand. Artie was already waiting in the arrivals hall. Seeing them, he rushed forward to take their luggage.

"Boss, Madam. The car is out front."

Hudson gave a curt nod, leading Nora toward the exit.

The second they stepped out of the terminal, a figure darted toward them.

"Hudson!"

Tiffany Lancaster, wearing a pale yellow sundress and sky-high heels, trotted over. Her eyes landed on Nora, and she instantly flashed an overly sweet, eager smile. "Nora..."

Nora blinked in surprise. The youngest Lancaster sister had previously been downright hostile to her, even threatening her to leave Hudson. Now she was practically rolling out the red carpet.

The air between them grew thick and uncomfortable. Tiffany cleared her throat. "Right, have you guys eaten breakfast yet? There's an amazing diner near the airport..."

Hudson turned to Nora. "Are you hungry? Let's get you some food first."

"I'm fine. Let's go straight to the hospital," Nora insisted.

"There's no rush," Hudson said, his thumb gently stroking the back of her hand. "The doctors are watching over Grandmother. We can't do anything by rushing over. You haven't eaten a thing all morning, your stomach won't be able to handle it."

Nora tried to argue, but Hudson was already steering her toward the parking garage.

Tiffany trailed behind them, staring at their joined hands, her lips twitching in disbelief. Since when did her ruthless, terrifying brother become such a romantic softie?
